Ray produced a wonderfully detailed Quinquennial Survey for us, that not only highlighted the work needed doing to restore the building, but also provided us with a phased schedule of works that has helped with project planning, funding applications and hasn't overwhelmed us as a church with what needs doing.
He is easy to contact, understands how churches work and offers great support within that context.

Ray turned up when he said he would, identified that the raised parapet party wall flashings were to blame, and discussed at length the issue and followed up with a written report detailing what was required, the correct products, and a list of approved roofing contractors appropriate to the works required.

I was very impressed about Project Design Consultancy by their professionalis and what the have achieved in very short period of time. Ray took on the project from scratch and within few days he drowned the floor plans and arranged the structural design to done very quickly, thank you for that. Ray went on to apply to Plymouth city council, the building regulations for the project which he followed up until it was approved.

Ray was recommended to us from another contact. We required a survey on a property that we were purchasing. We felt the property did not need a full on L2/3 survey due to its age and condition but Ray was happy to go and do a visual inspection and have a snoop around. PDC helped us with a complicated project to carry out repairs to a property we were buying which had a number of problems identified in a home buyers survey. This involved liaising with the vendor and owners of a downstairs flat - who were carrying the cost of the work - to ensure that all repairs were done to a high standard so that the sale to us could complete. Ray was brilliant in offering advice to the various interested parties to get the job done as quickly as possible and, most importantly, in line with an agreed budget. He oversaw all the technical aspects and offered solutions to problems as they arose. He gave us total confidence in the whole process, and in the quality of the work done. The building is now in top condition and we are more than happy with our purchase. We are very grateful to Ray for all his hard work. I can't recommend him enough and would have absolutely no hesitation in asking for his help again.

We appointed Ray as our architect back in January to design a garage and obtain planning permission and council building control acceptance. Ray was also contracted to do design work to our house and obtain building control acceptance. Ray obtained planning permission for the garage back in April however, he has failed to obtain council building control acceptance having had his designs rejected for both the garage and the house.
Ray has also missed council set deadlines for submitting information which has cost us in programme. His construction drawings (attached) lack detail and have numerous errors on them.
We have terminated our contract with Project Design Consultancy and are waiting for Ray to response to our request for a proposition for a refund for work not carried out.

In answer to Rays response, I held back less than 10% of the total invoice until Ray had re-designed the garage and house as requested by the council. We had contracted Ray to provide designs compliant to the council Building Control satisfaction. It is irrelevant to us how much work you put into producing non compliant designs, what we were paying for was not materialising.
