I emailed Oakes on a Sunday evening in anticipation of a response some time on the Monday morning.

It was requesting a quote on landlords property insurance as my renewal had come through and I wanted to check if it was competitive.

I was quite surprised to receive a response from Sean, Managing Partner, that same evening to thank me for my email and it would be looked into on Monday.

True to his word, I received a quotation around midday!

It was around the same price and level of cover as renewal so I emailed in return thanking him for his very prompt attention and if my current insurers ever let me down, he will be the first I contacted.

He even suggested my sums insured needed reviewing and gave me a link to the BCIS to allow me to check requirements.

Excellent service from this insurance broker on what would typically be a busy Monday morning!

I can't recommend Sean and the team at Oakes highly enough. They're keen to give a great service to their customers and recommended staying with my current insurer even when it gives them no revenue - almost unheard of in the financial sector! They've saved me £250 on one policy though for my business insurance and I'm always certain that they've found me the best insurance, not just the best price.

Very soon after joining BNI my business insurances were due for renewal and I spoke to Sean from Oakes Insurance about them.

Sean reviewed my policies and advised that I had adequate cover for my business’s activities. He didn’t try to ‘upsell’ me any other policies or increase the level of cover I had. I agreed that I would transfer my Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurances from my existing broker to Oakes Insurance Consultants through Sean.

Sean prepared the transfer paperwork for me so all I had to do was simply print the documents on my letterhead, sign them and he would do the rest.

Unfortunately, when the paperwork was submitted, the insurance company refused to allow the transfer between brokers at the existing premium levels. Sean immediately contacted me and explained the situation and we agreed to leave things as they were.

Even though in the end it wasn’t possible to transfer the policies to Sean and Oakes Insurance this time, I really valued the professional and honest way Sean dealt with me and I will definitely go to him when my personal insurance policies are up for renewal.
