I've always used online comparison sites. Then we had a big problem with our car insurance when another vehicle crashed into us. Despite it being the other persons fault, our insurer said unbeknownst to us, that we were incorrectly insured with them. A very stressful few weeks followed during which I was put in touch with Kathryn at Mango who helped guide us through the ins and outs of what we needed (this was not a complicated insurance policy, but of course our insurer went through everything with a fine tooth comb to, I believe, catch us out)

Kathryn was at the end of the phone to help (despite not being our broker at that point) with reassurance, and guidance on what we needed to do.

In the end the insurance paid out, but not the full amount basically due to some technicalities which unless you have a real lust for small print, or like to spend hours re-reading policy info you more than likely wouldn't be aware of.

Long story short, Kathryn at Mango was so great that I'll never go back to comparison sites again.

As I now know, when you have an accident, the insurer isn't on your side. They are there to make money from you, and if they can find a way to not pay out for what you believe to have done in good faith, they will avoid it. They have teams of people paid to find a way to not pay! You need someone like Kathryn on your side to make sure you have everything in place to cover you correctly - you are (probably) not an insurance expert. She is.
