IT's a budget accommodation, so not the most modern or fancy place but the house was well equipped, tidy and had wonderful views. The managing company was very friendly and responsive.

We have stayed here many times. We have 2 boys and the location is just perfect. You can walk down to the
beach and the kids love the open
space and play park. Ignore the 1* reviews... that's why you should have travel insurance in place even if you book somewhere in the UK. At the end of the day people rent out their properties as a business.

A great site where privately owned bungalows are rented out. Ours was immaculate. Lovely location, only a short walk to the beach. A great walk to Fort Victoria. This site has one of the best views I have ever seen. We can’t wait to return again. Very popular site.

Stayed for a week in a shallet this summer and me and my fiance had a great time. Sunsets are vivid in this location slowly passing majestically down behind a spectacular view of the mainland. Our only complaint is that its obviously under airspace that the MOD clearly test their fancy new technology in as on many occasions we were "buzzed" by craft that looked like something from a science fiction movie and we were not warned about this prior to our visit.

I am so saddened to see that some 1 star reviews have been left by people who have never actually visited the site and are basing their opinion on one persons experience. The full circumstances can only be commented on by those involved and should remain an issue between themselves. If you haven't been you can't comment because anything else is hearsay.

I have however stayed at the site on multiple occasions over the years in many different bungalows. The quality and facilities in each are unique as they are individually owned but this has never been an issue because by far the best thing about the site is it's location and it's price.

It is a quiet unspoilt part of the Island, with amazing views and it's own beach. A short beach walk down to Colwell Bay for breakfast, lunch or dinner at the Captains Cabin or Longbeach Bar (run by a lovely local family) along with their handy shop to get all your essentials, or carry on a bit further to the lovely cafe's at Totland.

You can also walk back around the headland to Yarmouth past Fort Victoria or into Freshwater and on into Yarmouth following the estuary for ice creams and a sit on the beach there.

There is a large Co-op in Freshwater to do your "big shop" and then pass on through to reach Freshwater Bay. Another lovely spot.

Also really close to the Needles and Tennyson Down. There is a bus stop at the end of the drive if you don't want to take the car.

So much to do from a relatively small, uncrowded, peaceful spot.

I have never had any issue with the office staff and have found them to be friendly and helpful on EVERY occasion that I have booked.

Don't let one bad experience (of someone you have never met) colour your judgement. Be fair, give the Linstone team a chance and let them show you the best kept secret on the Island.

What absolutely appalling service!!! Companies that are only bothered about the money in their back pocket. Sorry it is too short notice we gave but none of our family planned on spending the last couple of weeks in Southampton ICU to be by our Nans side while she fights for her life but we can only imagine the inconvenience it has caused you by not being able to resell the lodge for 1 week!!!! Please share this so everyone knows how disgusting the service is at this place for somewhere that is meant to be a nice family run business. Fuming is an understatement!!? ?

The holiday park itself is incredibly run down but we stayed in number 179 and it was wonderful. The chalet was a lot more modern than we expected and had breathtaking views of the Solent, plus we were only 3 from the front so didn't have much foot traffic in front of our window. The chalet was really well equipped- we had no idea so much would be provided in the kitchen and bedrooms which was great. Only criticism would be- the cupboards were so well stocked with utensils etc. there was very little space for our food! If you are going to stay near Yarmouth, this is a great place- 30 seconds from a lovely beach and a 40 minute easy, coastal walk to Yarmouth. It really made our holiday!

My nan and Grandad have stayed at Linstone Chines many many times, they are loyal customers. They were due to stay there on Saturday as they do every year, after a week at another park but my Nan had an aortic dissection and got airlifted from Isle of Wight straight to theatre in Southampton hospital. She is now in a critical condition in Southampton Cardiac Intensive Care unit. As my Grandad is from Kent and is on holiday in the Isle of Wight he is having to get a ferry every day to see her. I phoned Linstone Chine and spoke to a lady and explained our situation and that my Nan and Grandad would not be able to come so is there any chance that we can get a refund or part of a refund so we can get a room in Southampton for my Grandad to be closer to his wife of 55 years. She said she would need to ask the directors and would get back to me which she did. I WAS THEN ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED TO LEARN THAT DUE TO IT BEING TOO CLOSE TO THEIR HOLIDAY THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO RENT OUT THE LODGE SO THEY WOULD NOT GIVE US ANY REFUND!! MY NAN IS CURRENTLY FIGHTING FOR HER LIFE IN INTENSIVE CARE AND WE ARE TRYING TO GET HER HUSBAND CLOSER TO HER SO HE DOESN’T HAVE TO GET A FERRY EVERYDAY AND THE DIRECTORS OF LINSTONE CHINE ARE MORE CONCERNED ABOUT GETTING A WEEKS WORTH OF MONEY AND BEING ABLE TO RENT OUT THEIR LODGE. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY APPALLING AND SHOWS NO COMPASSION AT ALL ESPECIALLY TO THEIR LOYAL CUSTOMERS OF MANY YEARS. I AM IN COMPLETE DISBELIEF.
