Hastings direct AVOID asked for photo evidence of my car for a new car insurance claim send the photos only to be told 24 hours later policy canceled please note this is a bog standard car with literally the only change is a private number plate also legal I've been given 0 response from the insurance company and been black listed of a number of insurance providers and being falsely accused i will take is to my solicitors absolutely joke of a company 0 trust with them and advise anyone thinking of going to this company don't they give false accusations and it makes your insurance 2x the price it should be after they put a black mark on your name. I'm also taking this as fair as I can go legally.

Cant believe they rated Hastings Direct 5 stars. I guess they just rate everyone 5 star if they pay enough

Since Defaqto rates AXA with 5 stars I have major concerns that this is a reliable source of information for consumers.

AXA behaved in a dishonest and fraudulent way when dealing with my having reported an accident to them. I provided them with all details of the accident and made it clear that I didn't want to claim.

However, AXA insisted that their own accident form be completed. This was a confidence trick because their form gave them the right to choose how to deal with the 'claim'.

AXA held me responsible for the accident even though I was the only witness and the lorry hit my car when I was stationary.

Conclusion: Don't trust Defaqto or AXA

Defaqto ratings are meaningless. Pointless organization. Aviva is 5 star rated, but they subcontract their services to 1-star rated organizations. Defaqto ratings are simply a scam, and don't provide any consumer value.

Having problems with Hastings direct and wondered how they have a 5* rating when over 60% of complaints against them are upheld.

It seems like a rather arbitrary rating..... Certainly should not be 5*

Unfortunately - like so many others - I have found Defaqto ratings to not only be meaningless but actually hugely misrepresentative. The Defaqto 'star' rating system is utterly pointless, (especially when it comes to Sheila's Wheels and esure).

I wouldn't believe this company, just see how easy they give 5 stars to car insurance companies, see tesco, they don't use customer opinions for starters, for true ratings Google at least shows the bad too.
Defaqto you just support bad business etiquette, I won't be trusting your stars again

Company not registered with the Financial Conduct Authority since 2013, so the value of their 'comparisons' and 'advice' on financial products needs to be considered alongside the fact they have no legal right to perform regulated activity in the UK.

They apparently also feature companies who pay them sponsorship's on their comparison tables. Of course I am not saying this is in anyway dodgy, but it would be nice to know who they have a financial relationship with when you scan down the publically accessible comparison tables.

Would not consider their 'advice' to carry much weight really.
