Over £1,000 for an extended warranty…what a waste of time bought a car 9 months ago. I let manifold has now gone and will cost £1400 to fix. Yup it’s not covered under exclusions of fair wear and tear. The car has t done 80k miles and the part should last another 20,000+. Con artists avoid at all costs.

Absolute Scam.I was sold a 2year platinum RAC warranty costing £1499. by my garage with the assurance that everything ( except wear and tear items) is included. After going through the warranty contract i quickly realised that NOTHING would be covered.
The contract wording is so heavily biased towards the Warranty Group you would stand NO chance.
Then i started to check on all of the relevant complaint sites, only to see that I am absolutely right. This is a SCAM.
I have tried to get my money back as i have only have had the warranty for x8 weeks and have made NO claims.
And YES you can see what's coming. They said NO despite the warranty terms saying that its possible.

Short summary: DONT BUY THEIR PRODUCTS!

My story so far:

I can totally understand the sentiments of the poor reviews on here.

I purchased a car from “the car people” unfortunately I was involved in an accident and the car was written off by the insurer. Whilst somewhat inconvenient and sad, I felt some comfort and reassurance in the fact I had purchased a Return to Invoice GAP policy at the recommendation of how good it was by the salesperson at the time of my car purchase.

All I can say is how very wrong and misleading that information was.

To cut a long story short, I’m now facing a shortfall in my settlement from my GAP policy through this company, when speaking to them their figures just don’t add up, they can’t explain them to me themselves, so what confidence have I got that they are getting it right?! I’ve asked for a written breakdown of how they are calculating their settlement but I’ve yet to see any.

The length of time this whole process has taken has been a joke, and has cost me even more than the figure below due to extra payments to my finance company for a car that’s sat in the scrap yard.

So, I’m left with a hefty £1500+ shortfall I will have to personally pay to settle my finance, WHAT HAS BEEN THE POINT IN PURCHASING GAP IN THE FIRST PLACE I ASK MYSELF?!

The next step for me will be the Financial Ombudsman, my finance company, the Media, and the small claims procedure.

Why is it always the little man having to fight injustice from these soul-less companies like this? I’m literally tired and sick to death of it and urge anyone considering their products to heed my notice...

...Please DO NOT BUY THEIR PRODUCTS! They aren't worth the paper their printed on and you can buy elsewhere separately

PLESSE AVOID! RAC Patinum Warrenty is provided by TheWarrentyGroup also known as Assurant.

I had a very bad experience with these people and I would urge you to avoid them at any cost! I am building a legal case against these people and would possibly write to BBC as well.

I had a split manifold in my engine and the car is only 3 years old and has done 60k on milage. it was just out from manufacturer warrenty. I have every right to make a claim on this but they denied by saying the "part has come to the end of its life". The first thing I am expecting to change on this car is the warn out brakepads!!! According to their statement they expect the Air Intake Manifold to be changed even before you change the brakepads for the first time. I mean this is ridiculous.

So I ask them to provide the evidence that they have based thier assumption upon,They came up with a service bulletin provided by the manufacturer explaining how the part should be replaced and it had no information to prove anything. Upon further inquries they stated its a manufactor fault. So I called the manufacturer to verify this and got a response saying it is not and if thats the case the vechile will be called in for repair.

Now I am stuck with this annoying warrenty provider who is refused to pay for my warrenty with no valid reason.

I thought RAC is a fairly good warrenty provider. But it seems they are involved with these cheap warrenty companies. I have paid £2k for this extended warrenty to have a piece of mind, All that gave me was nightmares and added stress. I will not recommened RAC for anyone anymore and will do my best make people aware of this.

I will share the whole story in social media and mainstream media and will not rest until this is heard by everyone.
