I called Pension Works to ask about their fees for transferring my husband's DB pension worth £70,000 the fee would be around £3,000. But because we had another large pension - a final salary one; which is locked since he's already started drawing on it, they said they would have to charge for the advice on this pension too. We also have significant savings - so we are not relient in any way on this small older pension for our retirement. The figure we were quoted was £14,000 to transfer a £70,000 pension. Other advisers rightfully have since quoted between £3,000 and £4,000 and they agreed that looking at our 2nd pension in this situation was not neccessary or sensible. Absolutely shocking that any financial advisers would suggest such a thing, anyone less financially astute may easily have been misled.

I am truly grateful to you at the Pension Trace Service (part of Pension Works). You have enabled me to track down a preserved pension worth more than £24,000!
I was really surprised, because I had only paid into this pension for 4 years.
I would definitely recommend this company and their service to anybody who wishes to track down a lost pension. A 'search' fee is payable, but absolutely worth it as I was getting nowhere trying to trace this pension myself.

Smart, polite and knowledgeable staff, from the first call with Alison to the advisor, James. They really helped me to understand what I had, what I would need when I retire and helped me to get my affairs in order so my retirement can be the best it can be.
One great thing was the charge was taken from my pension transfer and not from my pocket.
I'd recommend you give them a try, I'm glad I did!

I was dubious about using a telephone advisory firm, but my doubts disappeared as soon as I spoke to Laura. Big thanks to James who was my adviser, I consolidated three pensions into one with Scottish Widows. Couldn't be happier with Pension Works, highly recommend.

NOT recommend,worse company iv ever had dealings with!!total shambles,I had 3 D.B.pensions and 4 online Aviva pensions (instant information) to be advised on,very long,drawn out unproffessional service?After 7 months the result was same as before the drawn-out advice,this lax service cost me thousands of pounds and unable to retire due to delays !!.unfortunately my financial advisor used them on my behalf(he no longer has dealings with them),spoke with head of customer relations and he couldn't see any problem with the service given.avoid.
