Afraid I have to 2 star Nova Wealth for three reasons.

For the wealth management arm of the company I would have to give only 1 star for 2 main reasons. Firstly I was recommended to keep my company pension where it is since I would lose my retire at 50 status. With my new IFA (Fairstone) it turns out this huge benefit is transferable.

Second, they wanted me to hold off for 6 months each year before investing my annual allowances. Even basic IFAs should realise Time in the market is more important than timing the market. By holding off 6 months of every year I was effectively losing 50% of that allowances growth (say on average returning 7% Pa). I ended up escalating this and was told I didn’t understand and it would be fine. Finally, they realised it was their error and not mine. I think, if you know very little about finance, they will help. But for someone reasonably financially literate like myself, I felt I was paying for Duff advice.

UPDATED following Nova response:
I notice your comments only address 1 of my 2 issues. My new IFA checked and I can transfer the age 50 retirement to the new policy and that is what I have now done. So I am able to get better rates while still maintaining my age 50 retirement. I just wish Nova wealth had looked into that option.
