Ephraim’s knowledge is second-to-none when it comes to mortgages/lending. Our fixed-term ended in October 2022 and due to busy work commitments, we let it roll onto a Standard Variable Rate (SVR). Six months on and our repayments had gone up by roughly 80%! I was worried that we had missed the boat on securing a fixed-term deal at a more reasonable rate. My wife and I run a small business and for various reasons we didn’t want to go out to the market for comparison. Ephraim was able to point us in the right direction and provide guidance on how to speak with our lender direct. Within a day of contacting the bank (June 2023) we had agreed a new 5-year fixed deal which was only slightly higher than what we had been paying in October 2022 and far less than the SVR. To say we were delighted with the outcome is an understatement.
