I have a car financed with Alphera ,about 5 years now, and have found them really good, also very helpful whenever I've called them.
Admittedly I haven't had serious issues like some of these people leaving negative feedback.
I suppose the happy customers don't bother leaving feedback.

Avoid Alphera Finance at all costs!

I am absolutely appalled by the level of service I’ve received from Alphera Finance. I purchased a car in February 2024 and have been battling with an intermittent fault ever since. Despite taking the car back to the dealership twice and even sending it to an independent garage, the issue persists. The fault is still unresolved, and it’s been an incredibly frustrating and stressful experience.

I made Alphera aware of my intention to reject the vehicle under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which I am fully entitled to do. However, it took them a staggering 9 weeks to respond – only after I had to chase them up via email. When they did finally get back to me, they completely sided with the dealership without ever properly listening to my side of the story. There are clear contradictions and inconsistencies in the dealership's statements, yet Alphera chose to ignore these and dismissed my claim.

To make matters worse, I was advised to send a video of the evidence, which I did promptly. But it seems like they either didn’t watch it or simply decided to disregard it. They’ve now sent me a final response rejecting my claim without any consideration for the damage this whole ordeal is doing to my mental health. When I called to discuss this further, they were completely uninterested. They told me the decision was final, and now I need to go through the Financial Ombudsman.

This company has no intention of helping their customers. Their customer service is diabolical, and they clearly don’t care about resolving issues or offering any real support. It’s been an incredibly frustrating experience, and I would strongly advise you to avoid Alphera Finance if you value your time, money, and mental wellbeing. They’ve shown nothing but disregard for my situation.

I’ve had nothing but problems with Alphera over the last 9 months. I formally rejected my car within the legal 6-month window due to ongoing serious faults which occurred the day I collected the vehicle. Although the faults were the dealer’s responsibility, Alphera’s handling of the rejection and refund process has been appalling. I’ve spent months going back and forth trying to resolve this, providing photographic evidence, mechanical reports, and full documentation. Despite this, the process has been dragged out far longer than necessary.

I returned the car over a month ago, yet I’m still being charged monthly payments despite being told the rejection was accepted, the agreement would be terminated, and I would no longer be billed. To this day, the agreement is still showing as active and I’ve received no clear communication or refund.

I’ve repeatedly tried to contact my case handler over the past week with no response, which is incredibly stressful and unprofessional — especially after everything I’ve already gone through.

The only positive has been the escalations team, in particular, Trevor, who has shown empathy, listened to me, and attempted to help where others haven’t. Sadly, that doesn’t make up for the poor handling, delays, and ongoing financial impact I’ve suffered.

Don’t trust Alphera Financial Services!!

We financed a car through Alphera in Aug 2024. The vehicle developed multiple faults and stopped working entirely by Jan 2025. We requested to reject the car under the Consumer Credit Act on 18 Dec 2024 as it was not of satisfactory quality or fit for purpose. Alphera took over 6 months to resolve our complaint, and during this time we were forced to continue paying for a car we couldn’t drive.

Our complaint handler, Aaron, consistently gave false information, ignored calls/emails, and made promises he never followed through on. Even after the car was collected and we were told the finance agreement was cancelled, we received a notice saying we missed a payment. Despite assurances that the balance was cleared, we are still being chased for £290.09, with threats of credit file damage.

As of today, this issue remains unresolved. We’ve had no meaningful communication from Alphera. Our emails to the CEO of Alphera go ignored. The CEO of BMW UK never acknowledged us. Even the Financial Ombudsman Service expressed frustration at Alphera’s lack of cooperation and conflicting paperwork.

We’ve financed multiple BMW vehicles and motorbikes over the years. This treatment is disgraceful. We no longer trust the brand and won’t finance another BMW product. Avoid Alphera at all costs. If something goes wrong, you’ll be left completely unsupported Avoid Alphera at all costs. If something goes wrong, you’re completely on your own.

I bought a car from Hippo last year using Alphera finance, at the same time I paid for a warranty on the vehicle. Last week the car broke down. I had it recovered garage checked it out and I contacted Alphera for authorisation to get the car repaired under the warranty. I was then given BMW UK telephone number who predictably knew nothing about my car, my warranty or myself. I then try to phone Alphera back and the line is permanently engaged. Appalling service, avoid like the plague!

Awful customer service. Will make you wait 9 weeks to come back to you having clearly not read your email. Case handlers are honestly useless. Wish I'd never dealt with these clowns.
