Have had a really positive experience with 4Paws; I recently had to make some claims for emergency treatment for my pet, and wasn’t sure where to start. I called customer service twice and both times they have been really friendly and helpful, and also very sympathetic and supportive during a stressful time. The claims were processed very quickly as well! Very happy customer here!

*Dishonest, Manipulative, and Exploitative – Stay Away from 4Paws! Especially New Pet Owners & anyone with a Disability!!*

I’ve never been so disgusted by a company’s practices. 4Paws Pet Insurance has proven themselves to be unethical, dishonest, and entirely untrustworthy. I strongly urge anyone thinking of using them to stay far away.

I took out insurance for my 14-week-old kitten, and they’ve done everything possible to avoid paying out on a valid claim. First, they tried to retroactively change the start date of my policy to weasel out of covering my kitten's condition. Then, they shifted their excuses to claim he wasn’t covered because I hadn’t yet brought him home when I took out the policy —something they never made clear when I signed up and is actually untrue in their own policy wording. Their terms are deliberately vague and misleading, designed to leave you uncovered when you need help most.

What makes this worse is that 4Paws knew about my disability and memory issues from the start, asking me whether I had any disabilities under the guise of trying to be helpful and accommodating, yet they shamelessly used this against me. They gaslit me into believing I was in a 14-day waiting period, which wasn’t true, and two separate staff members fed me the same lie, insisting I was mistaken. Their treatment was not only stressful but potentially life-threatening for my kitten, as they delayed his much-needed care with their manipulative tactics. And if I hadn't pursued it further I would have been left thinking my pet was uncovered. I wonder how many other people they have tricked with this same method and left their pets lives at risk.

If you have a disability, steer clear of this company. They will take advantage of your vulnerability and twist the situation to their benefit. 4Paws has no integrity, no compassion, and no respect for their customers.

I will never use them again, and I hope this review spares others the same nightmare. Avoid 4Paws at all costs—your pet’s life might depend on it!

I have been using this company for many years, as once you insure and you pet has an ongoing condition its difficult to find a new insurer.

I find that they are extremely slow at paying claims, send poor communication, and cannot itemise any paid claims, so you never know what has been paid and what hasn't without a long phone call.

Once your dog has an ongoing condition premiums escalate.

Wouldn't recommend them at all.

I was charged a £10 late payment fee and was advised that the money could not be collected.

Having checked my bank there were no attempts or notifications of a failed payment.

I advised them to try again whilst I had them on the phone and they said it would only be tried in a few days time.

I do not recommend this company as they will take extra money from you.

A Ruthless Display of Greed – Avoid at All Costs!

I’m furious with this pet insurance company’s heartless behavior. After insuring our new kitten from day one, they refused our claim when he needed urgent care, citing ridiculous clauses.

First, they falsely claimed we were in a waiting period, then insisted the kitten had to live with us for six months to be covered.

Their actions are nothing short of deceitful and greedy. They care more about padding their profits than fulfilling their obligations. Our kitten’s health is at risk, yet they hide behind technicalities, delaying and dodging their duty.

This company is nothing more than a money-grabbing scam, exploiting pet owners when they’re most vulnerable. Stay far away!

Really good pet insurance company, never had a problem. They are very helpful and process claims quickly as well as keep you updated on progress throughout the different stages.

Don’t purchase any vans or leave any deposits with this company. As if you leave a deposit and withdrawal due to unforeseen circumstances, as I had to do and continue with the purchase of a second hand van from 4 paws. When asking for my deposit back £3000, I was told my deposit was non refundable. There is nothing on your documentation to indicate it was non refundable. This company is not to be trusted.

Sent 2 emails to cancel auto renewal. No response. Sat on phone for 30 mins - no answer. Renewal would have cost 3x more than a several new quotes I received from a PCW. Avoid these cowboys
