Our second visit here but under the new management since we last visited it well exceeded our expectations. Upon our we had a warm welcome from Oz who checked us in and briefed us on options. Our room No 5 was simply fabulous. Huge room with a bath in the bedroom. We did use it once and not only did it fill quickly it was lovely and hot. Bed and pillows perfect had great sleeps. Bathroom very large too. All tastefully decorated and furnished. Spotlessly clean. Biscuits and bottled water in the room daily. Breakfast was the best helped by the lovely smiling Jess. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Great asset to the team. Breakfast fantastic value as a resident as you could have whatever you wanted. Granola yoghurt honey particularly good as were the pancakes with crispy bacon. To be fair all the staff we encountered were the best. The only place I would stay and its location on the River Dart is unbeatable. Highly recommend.

A Hidden Gem Near Steamer Quay
The Steam Packet Pub in Totnes is a fantastic find—just a 5-minute stroll from the Steamer Quay campsite. The food is absolutely delicious, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the prices are very reasonable. Whether you're just visiting or staying nearby, I’d highly recommend stopping by for a meal or drink. A lovely spot all around!

Visited for drinks on a Friday evening. Pub is in a lovely setting on the banks of the river dart. Spacious outdoor seating on a terrace overlooking the river. Very tranquil and relaxing when we visited as pub was not too busy. Would definitely call again.

Sat in quant dog friendly pub area across from more formal dining room. Very good food was clearly made by a chef who created novel twists on traditional fare. Will return.

What a wonderful place to visit & eat. There was 7 of us in our group celebrating 2 birthdays. The restaurant menus had some very tempting choices but I opted for something from the Specials board 'Pork, Black Pudding Mash, Spinach & a Mushroom & Mustard source'. My food was "WONDERFUL" plentiful real food but not a crum left.

Staff were great & very helpful 👍👍👍👍👍

Lovely pub set on the river. The honey glazed ham sandwich came with some nice chunky slices of ham. The only downside was that the intransigent barman who insisted I pay for a replacement drink when he got my order wrong.
