We had been trying to sell our parents house since our Dad died 2 years ago. The estate agent recommended that we empty the house to increase the chance of a sale. This was a family home with 40 years worth of possessions and furniture. I contacted Amersham Auction rooms to discuss their house clearance option, and was put in touch with Barrie.

Barrie quickly organised a site visit to assess the contents of the house. He gave an honest assessment of what items had value and which did not. He also coordinated with Clark’s of Amersham (removals) to get a quotation for the house clearance.

The whole process was very straightforward, my brothers and I felt well looked after and informed during the whole process.
The money we made on the auction has covered the cost of the house clearance.

Could we have done the house clearance ourselves? Probably, but it would have taken many weekends and we would have had to dispose of the furniture etc ourselves.

The approach with Amersham Auction Rooms made a difficult process very easy, and Barrie’s knowledge and support was a key part of this. A big thanks to him.

I would recommend Barrie and Amersham Auction Rooms to anyone in a similar situation.

We Buy daily on the saleroom.com and have never come across such poor customer service. We received multiple requests to pay which we emailed to the original invoice to say, we will pay when we come to collect and gave them a date (this was only 5 days after the sale). We have since seen the invoice has to be paid in three days but if they had replied to our email in the first place they could have informed us as such and we would have paid and collected earlier. Instead they proceeded to put a ban on our account without any acknoldgment of said email. We will not be using Amersham auction house again and i would avoid as a buyer.

As a response to Simon - This could have all been said in a polite reply from our first email if your team would have actually replied.This response just reinstates how poor Amersham Auction House customer care is.
