Terrible insurance company. Wouldn’t recommend. May be cheap but not worth it. My van got written off due to the recovery trucks fault that my insurer sent to recover me. Acorn have cancelled my insurance policy which I paid in full back in January due to a change of £30. They never explained to me what the reasoning behind this was. They give you a week to pay an Extra premium you have no idea about but won’t pay me out for an incident which happened back in August. Frankly disgusting how companies treat their customers.

absolutely appalling service, Was involved in an accident non-fault contacted for assistance and a higher vehicle and was given the cheapest option Vehicle available was also told it would be a manual when I only drive automatic and if I wasn't happy I would have to pay the extra money for a automatic, 4 months down the line for a non-fault accident I got a payment which was completely wrong. Six weeks later I finally got the correct amount after being misinformed over and over by staff, Going through a complaint which involves ombudsman, wouldn't recommend at all.

Posting this review on Acorn as they were my insurance provider and they use Haven Claims after an RTC.

Haven are a cowboy outfit that writes off vehicles unnecessarily so they can make profits. When you question their desktop assumptions you’re swiftly treated with distain and given mixed advice that pushes you into situations that removes responsibility from their own accountability.

I was right to question their decision to write off my vehicle as the repairs finally were £2,500 lower than their lowest estimates, they also didn’t provide me with a temporary vehicle when I’m covered for it as an added option.

When I demanded a second opinion from an approved repairer, they use technicalities to get away from their obligations.

My van was fixed in the end but I had to pay for my own temporary replacement vehicle, I’ve even taken them to court through another insurance policy which has cost them money to defend.

I lost my case on a technicality because I demanded the vehicle be taken to an approved repairer as they were stubborn to provide me with information I requested. Even if it’s an approved repairer and I paid the approved repairer excess, they still used my request as a reason to say it was my own garage choice.

This company is completely dishonest and will use anything to get away from taking responsibility. They talk to their customers rudely as the judge heard in court and she even said she sympathises with me for what I went through, but still a technicality means they got away with it.

They literally only want to take your money they increased my premium each month by almost £100 when my driving score was 83/100. Would definitely not recommend this company. They just want as much money as possible.

Terrible decision to get insured by Acorn, nothing but hassle, they take way too long to resolve any issues, everytime I ring up I either am on hold for hours or get hung up on, they overcharged me by £47.00 and told me it was a mistake and then did not deduct it from the next payment and have increased my payment amount and not rectified any mistake made, I pay £271.00 a month for a car that’s worth £900.00 with a black box and only at a third party fire and theft type coverage, I exceeded the mileage at the start of the policy and instead of being able to change it to a different amount that suits me I was forced to increase it to the maximum amount otherwise my insurance would be cancelled. Very dissatisfied!

Absolutely scam of a company. Wish I had checked the reviews before taking out with them but I guess that's what I get for using a comparison website.

I missed 1 payment (yup that's my fault) so I set up a repayment plan, they would automatically take payment each week to pay off that months amount(happy days, an understanding company that times are tough?)

First 2 weeks payments made. No email or messages about the 3rd payment not clearing, assumed it had been paid, 2 days later my normally monthly payment goes out all fine. Just received an email saying they have now cancelled my policy and I now owe them £68 for them cancelling it.

Checked my bank, they never attempted to take a 3rd payment after all.

This is the type of service acorn insurnce provides. I will be taking legal actions against this awfull insurance comapny. They will ruin your vehicle. Avoid this rubbish company.
