I don't know how good they are as I was only with a year. No claim made but my premium was increased by 40% so like anyone else I got a better quote elsewhere. The problem is they bombard you with emails and calls to renew even through you tell them have switched and then to top it all off they send you an email saying your vehicle is not insured with us and if caught on a public road you can be fined and have your vehicle removed. Errrrr HELLO. It's not my first day on planet earth Admiral and I don't appreciate the passive intimidation in order to renew with you.

About 11 months ago, I bought a car, and needed insurance. I chose the Admiral option, as I had previously had good experiences, and they were a brand that I trusted. It turned out the option I chose involved having what is called a 'Little Box' in my car to monitor me. I am 46, have zero points on my license and am a safe driver. I would 100% not choose this option again.

My Little Box experience has been catastrophic. I paid nearly £1000 for insurance, and I have literally spent multiple hours per month responding to threatening SMS messages (14 in total) and emails from you when my little box has not been working. I took time to set it up, and it was working logging trips. With no changes, I then get a text message. No trips recorded for 14 days, and threats to remove my 'discount'. So I call your call centres, and eventually get through to an agent who effectively tells me to turn it off and on again, and the app too. Logout, log back in again, and then... oh go for a 15-20 minute drive, right now, to test that it is working. If you are looking for guinea pigs to be free testers for your highly flawed new technology, this should be made obvious in advance.

I did have high opinions of Admiral, but now, i would avoid in any circumstance.

I had the same issue again yesterday. Another threatening SMS from Admiral specifying that you would remove my "discount' if i fail to get the device to work again immediately. More calls to the contact centre, sat in my car, restarting the box and the app, going for another 10-15. minute spin to check that it's working. It isn't. Another call, another pointless drive. Still not working. To say it has been irritating is an understatement, I must have wasted 20-30 hours over this useless device over the course of the last 11 months.

I think realistically, this technology needs a year of further in depth testing on non paying guinea pigs, who have time for (are paid for) this nonsense. I do not and have absolutely run out of patience. My insurance with Admiral comes to an end on the 30th Sept, and I am actively looking forward to that date, to not have this constant nagging threat that Admiral are going to charge me extra because the little box is not connecting again, and the threatening text messages are not good for anyone's state of mind.

I would also state, that I have responded to at least 10 Admiral surveys, post call, digital, via the app, all asking for contact from someone to help... Radio silence, so I thought trustpilot, Google Reviews would be a good way to ensure that others don't make the same mistake as me.

For reference, I have got quotes for an alternative provider without any of the littlebox nonsense, with Allianz, which is £250 cheaper than Admiral, which I would very much recommend to anyone. I would 100% not however recommend Admiral #Sadmiral

I was told my policy had been renewed but was left with no insurance.
I was directed to the online chat client on Admirals website to pay for another year’s insurance on my van. After giving them my card details and confirming the amount I had to pay, I received confirmation (through Sycurio) that the payment had been received and the transaction was a success.
A month later I needed breakdown assistance so I called admiral only to be told that they had not renewed my policy (in spite of them acknowledging that their records showed I had given them my payment information a month prior).
In addition they had handed my account to a collections agency - but couldn’t explain why, as I always pay my year’s insurance upfront.

The explanation seems to be that their live web chat crashed during the transaction.

Luckily I took a screenshot of my payment confirmation as proof - which I sent them.

In spite of this they refused to reinstate the policy and I was left on the side of the road for 2 days - uninsured.

They continue to email me claiming I owe them money even though the matter is still being investigated…

My name is Ihtisham Hussain I am disappointed with Admiral customer service and I am very disappointed with admiral. My car was parked on the roadside parking near Co-op heaton moor and a lady hit my car when I wasn’t inside the car, I had heard a bang and turned around to see her car hit into my car. I had all the proof and dash cam footage and even a recording of the other person refusing to give their details. I told them about the claim and they didn’t respond to my claim for 1 month until I reminded them. Admiral proceeds to say its both peoples fault and doubles the renewal when I didn’t get any money from them and repaired my car myself with my own money. I am not satisfied at all with Admiral it’s a joke company they have tried to get their way around this.

AVOID. Wouldn't even give it 1 star. Disgusting customer service charging £20 to cancel a contents insurance policy that renewed only 2 weeks ago that cost £6 a month, when I asked why it was being charged they ignored me and instead just referred it to a debt collection agency.

220 days after I reported a leak & 50 days after I had to move out of the property, the only thing that has happened is that Admiral's partners have damaged the tanking in my basement whilst drying it out.
Now requires the entire basement to be ripped out & re-done.
They've offered me & my wife just £700 in compensation so far. That's about £1.60 each, per day for the inconvenience of having part of our house trashed....
