At a time when many pet owners are worried about spiralling vet costs and policy payments, I’d like to say a big thank you to Harley in customer services at Agria. She patiently talked me through the various ways to reduce our costs transparently and honestly.
I started the call thinking we’d have to cancel our Ollie’s policy; in the end we got a fair deal.
Great old-fashioned customer service with the human touch works every time - especially not feeling like you’re at the mercy of rip-off merchants! 😉

I cannot comment on Agria's actual insurance services as thankfully I haven't needed to make a claim yet however I just wanted to leave a review specifically for 'Jodie' in customer services. I spoke to her on Friday and had a few questions which was clearly no trouble at all, she answered everything I needed to know and was so lovely. I was between two insurance companies and truthfully what swung it for me was her! Great asset to Agria.

When your pet is in their hour of need, you can rely on Agria.

I recently adopted a kitten and he came with 5 weeks free insurance. After about a month the cat started having issues and long story short he was diagnosed with FIP.

I extended the trial into a full policy and with the treatment for FIP running into the thousands I got a pre authorisation done between Agria and the specialist vets.

My claim spreads across both the trial policy and my main policy and I have spoken to both the customer services department and the claims department who have honestly been beyond brilliant on every occasion.

Claims have been accepted without quibble, paid promptly and they also expedited the pre authorisation done as they knew the treatment for FIP was very time sensitive.

I have never had a pet insured before but after this fantastic experience (with Agria, not a poorly cat) I have also added my dog and other cat to their own policies.

Better to have and not need than to need and not have.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you Agria for being there for my cat Cuba. Without you he wouldn’t be here.

I had an Agria free trial supplied when purchasing my new pet. They hounded me for weeks with emails extending the offer way beyond the initial cut-off date—sometimes twice a day. They’ve today (three months later) sent another email asking for feedback even after I’d unsubscribed—so I’ll provide it publicly.

They’re disingenuous and use excessive marketing emails to get buy-in quickly from new pet owners. This, coupled with astronomical prices in comparison to competitors makes them worth avoiding. Somethings amiss if an insurer with only a 3.5 star Google review average repeatedly markets themselves as the best there is.

If my free trial had been a date, I’d have climbed through the bathroom window to escape. They’d have driven past my house at night to see if I was home until eventually jumping out of a bush and confronting my new insurer for stealing me away. Avoid—even your inbox will thank you.

Sorry to say it, but the Insurance is not worth the paper it is written on, and the customer service is pathetic!
Having paid over £6000.00 to Agria in recent years, on my first ever claim they paid out £90.00 of a £270.00 claim.
I cancelled my direct debit as a response and was threatened with legal action if did not pay the remaining £270.00 of the premium.
Two complaints and promised calls from Agria failed to materialise and ultimately was told on the phone my complaints were rejected.
In the end I repaid the £90.00 received to avoid paying the remainder of the premium and to get Agria off my back.
Rest assured I will NEVER recommend Agria.

I am really grateful for the help Shane provided me when I called last week. My cat needs a CT scan and has been referred to a specialist. Shane really listened, provided information and help, a service that I have stopped expecting from businesses. He contacted the specialist for me and handled it very professionally and with the compassion that I needed in that moment. Before the call I felt defeated, I couldn't afford to pay Fern's specialist care up front (a % of which is required) and I didn't know the term pre-authorisation to ask about it. He helped, by listening he knew what I needed, what would help and handled it and I can't thank him enough.

The reason for the negative review is firstly due to no online quotes being available and having to call, which can be of putting for people and then difficult for some to make notes of the wide variety of prices offered.

Secondly and more significant is the cost. We do have an exempted "dangerous breed" and being one of only 2 companies that offer health insurance for these breeds I feel this company is taking advantage! The top level of cover at £20,000 would cost close to £6,000 a year with Agria. At that rate it is barely insurance and we might as well just save up!

Their site states that average dog insurance is approx £50 a month, if my maths are any where close to correct they must be offsetting the average by paying some owners thousands of pounds per year to be a customer! Avoid go with Napo insurance

We have recently lost our beloved ShihTzu, Lola, a 9 year old rescue who has been with us for just under two years. Previously we had a negative experience when Agria would not pay out. (Understandably as it happened)
This time an altogether different experience. We handed in our claim form to the vet at the time of Lola’s death and the money was paid directly in around 1 week. This helped to make the process of our grieving, more bearable. The vet, took care of all the details and we left them to it.Thank you Agria.
