very very unreasonable security - they refused entry to my friend. She was refused entry due to the fact she had pink hair and was told she was too intoxicated even though we had been let into multiple other bars with the same security. We mentioned it to secretly and that we believed this was unprofessional and wrong and then told us we could have one drink and then had to be escorted out.

We also said to the security how can you not let us in one place but let us in the place opposite and they couldn’t provide an answer - he then came in and told us that after speaking with his co worker who originally refused us that, we had to leave after one drink but couldn’t provide a reason for this besides the fact she had a loud laugh.

It was my friends birthday and she was having a nice day until this moment, and I wouldn’t be writing this if she had a drink, but people inside the bar all had the same look and it appeared that you would only be let in if you looked a certain way which we find appalling.

This was outside of Canterbury between Matches and Shakespeare. I wouldn’t recommend either of these places or the Akon security team.

I recalled someone mentioning the name Aaron but I would strongly recommend looking into the security team as they are not professional or trained well in any way, especially if you are part of the LGBTQ+ community.

Completely unprofessional staff who couldn’t give a reason for why we couldn’t enter Matches sports bar besides the fact my friend had pink hair. We were then let into Shakespeare with no issues until the security guard who let us in to Shakespeare bar told us that we were only aloud one drink and then had to be escorted out. The security guard was homophobic. This happened outside of Matches and Shakespeare in Canterbury. Will not be visiting anywhere near and would avoid Akon Security at all costs.

Security guy was blatantly homophobic and turned away a perfectly sober lady. After seeing him turn her away after her being completely reasonable and explaining that she wasn’t actually drunk at all as she hadn’t even begun drinking yet, I refused to enter such an establishment and frankly, I refuse to support such a business who blatantly discriminates against someone based on their more extravagant looks. Security should know the difference between dyed hair and intoxication and this was a more than obvious discriminatory decision. I hope this place re-evaluates their security arrangements otherwise they will start to suffer a loss in public traffic including my business.

We held a student gala ball for 300 people. This was the first time we worked with Akon Security on this project, and they were fabulous! They kept a low profile, unless needed, but had "eyes" everywhere and were completely in control. The staff created a happy environment liaising with the guests in a friendly but professional manner. I would highly recommend them
