We recently broke down in our car in France during a touring holiday. As we have European BMW Assurance, we contacted them from where we were stranded. 1 negative point I would like to stress is that when one contacts them one is answered by a computer bot. The bot asks for the car registration, when one gives the registration it does not understand. One is then requested to give the registration again using the phonetic alphabet, again the bot answers that it did not understand. Why use this system when it is so useless,.
However once we were talking to a person, I can only praise the professionalism of some of the agents. 2 who were the most helpful were Marie Ehouman & Tariq Sheerkhan. Some of the other agents appeared to just want to get rid of us, so I terminated the call and started again.

Had to cancel flight as my wife fell and tore a tendon of her elbow. I was full time carer. Spoke to representative who couldn't be more helpful. Filled in on line claim form with proof of cancellation and my wife's operation. Claim accepted and money in my account within a week. Brilliant service thank you.

I recently bought travel insurance from Allianz - a one-year multi-trip policy.
I had questions about the documentation, and, despite getting one answer the next day by email, I took a chance and went to their Croydon office (near me) in the hope of getting other questions and clarifications resolved in person, by a human being.
Ten minutes after turning up unannounced, Hamiyd Saleem met me at reception, where I'd had a free coffee, and proceeded to resolve all my questions within about 20 minutes.
He explained things, printed and emailed updates to my policy, and voluntarily gave me a 30% discount on the premium to compensate me for my inconvenience.
Unbelievably good customer service.

Mind you; I buy insurance and never claim so maybe my experience may change if I ever do. But so far so impressive.

Allianz missed event insurance. What a Scam.

They offer a full refund within 21 days of purchasing policy then don't refund the premium when cancelled within this time period.
Followed cancellation instructions as issued on my policy cover note with proof of receipt by Allianz (Day 20).

No refund,no contact forthcoming from Allianz.

Contacted credit card to dispute transaction and now Allianz awaken asking how the policy was cancelled when previously informed.

Evidently Allianz are trying their upmost to mislead the client and in misrepresenting the cancellation procedure, actively withholding premiums unjustly.

Quite prepared to take this to the FOS to highlight this 'deceiving' behavior.

SCAMMERS DON’T BUY THEIR INSURANCE!!
I bought insurance through them in case I missed the event it cost me just under £15. I missed the event tried to claim multiple times however every time after holding for 15+ minutes someone hung up on me before I could do anything. Awful company no one should use their services

Terrible service. Ive been calling and emailing to find out to get the claim still asking me to give more paperwork details from hospital buth the nhs charging me £52 evry stamp made for insurance company already I payd £200 still asking this insurance company need more paperwork from nhs ,.
Trying to delay the claim and to don't be paying out money

Roadside Assistance/ Recovery left me stranded on a dangerous London motorway flyover so I could not exit my vehicle or walk anywhere. Police sent a crash impact barrier to protect me which Allianz Assist knew and yet they still did not recover me. They instead lost me in the system and was sending no-one to help me, which they admitted to me on the phone. Finally was recovered by the police 5 hours later, after calling them again and again begging for help. Sadly I broke down again a week later and they sent a mechanic who doesn't work with electric vehicles even though I made them aware of this, then they sent a pick-up truck that wasn't suitable for SUV vehicles, another garage who was too full to take the car and I personally had to sort getting the car stored somewhere else instead. Finally here I am months later still fighting to get back my taxi expenses as they failed to give me a replacement vehicle and told me to take a taxi that they'd reimburse. There is no disagreement with this costs being reimbursed to me just that for 6 months they have failed to process it and I am waiting for £240 from them. They told me it's on the system but not assigned to anyone. Now it is assigned to a manager and he has also failed to contact me. The worst service when you needed them the most.
