Put in a claim 3 weeks ago and nothing. No replies to emails abd they have had all the documents required to resolve a very straightforward claim. Bought my holiday insurance through Rias but the claim is bring handled by Axa. Wish I'd known this as the reviews of Axa Travel are dreadful. Please
avoid and check they are not responsible for any part of travel insurance you may be considering buying.

Proceed with caution. It was easy & straight forward to purchase the policy through travel insurance saver, however the insurance partner, AXA, is currently putting us through an awful ordeal. A really awful and unsatisfactory customer experience during a really horrific ordeal when empathy & human decency should be at the forefront of the service provided.

WARNING-BEWARE-AVOID!!!
This is a warning to others so that they don’t have the problems we have had with Coverwise/AXA travel insurance. Their pre-existing conditions are not clear, providing false information. We made a claim as I was very unwell with a serious condition and could not travel. However, because I had been treated for a small rash around my mouth the previous year (2023), which cleared up after 2 days of using ointment, they are treating this as a pre-existing condition for a policy I took out with them in 2004. Please be sure to inform them if you get a spot at the end of your nose, or a bout of earache, or any minor/temporary problem as they will not honour your claim. Besides this, they are rude, speak over you, send badly/misspelt correspondence and due to the dialect and call quality it makes communication impossible. The evidence they request to support the claim is never satisfactory and each request they make for further information differs, making the whole process a shambles. Mickey Mouse, unprofessional company, steer clear for your own good. They make you believe you are travelling with peace of mind but it is the complete opposite.

FRAUD COMPANY AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Axa Insurance, purchased through Opodo. The customer service, especially from a representative named Karina, was shockingly poor. During a critical time when I needed to cancel my travel insurance due to personal emergencies, Karina accused me of fraud and treated my concerns with utter disrespect. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable, especially when dealing with sensitive issues. I expected much more from a company like Axa, and I am appalled by the lack of empathy and professionalism. I advise others to think twice before using their services if this is the standard of customer care they can expect.

7 months in, being threatened legal action for non payment of hospital invoice (not for much) by Austrian enforcers after ski accident, auto replies, but no action. They tell me it will take 8-12 weeks to process a claim, "we're very sorry", but they've had 30 weeks already. What a nonsense.

Guys please avoid, don't do it for the sake of a cheaper insurance deal. I WOULD GIVE ZERO STARS. Completely rude and hung up the phone when I called about my claim and didn't even process my claim from May due to a cancellation of my holiday. They stated they had been in touch with me regarding documents I did not send to which I absolutely did and have emails for this. I have a medical sick note for the cancellation but they just look for any excuse to not pay you. A truely terrible and pathetic services, how can people behave like this its shocking! I guess I will have to get solicitors involved to get my money back, thieves!

Axa is linked with coverwise who i had travel insurance. As per other reviews poor customer service - delay - delay - delay and just constant asking for further details and no response for weeks if any at all. I have been waiting two months now and nothing on our claim progress. Clearly they dont pay out so the travel insurance is nothing more than a piece of paper. Astonishing a big company will operate like this.

Spoke to someone named Mike who told me he was in the Crawley centre today at 17 April 12:04. Call went over 45 minutes, he seems lazy & disinterested, I asked to a speak to a manager, her name I believe was Impu. She said she would raise a complaint but hung up on me & never called back, so disappointed with AXA travel insurance, long story short I booked elsewhere & saved Β£ 50 pounds.
