We visited Backcountry UK to get advice and purchase a new pair of walking shoes. Fantastic service and really knowledgeable staff.
No problem with trying on multiple shoes in varying sizes and no pressure whatsoever. So impressed, once I had chosen mine, my wife went in to replace her walking boots.

Amazing service! you don't feel rushed and they are very knowledgeable. They help you to find the perfect fit no matter how long it takes. I have talipes so have wide flat feet, their Meindl Sulden and Meindl Meran both fit perfectly I've never been able to find a shoe or boot that fits as well as they do until now! They also do a wide range of ski and climbing gear such as fall mats and hiking rucksacks

Went here with my partner to get some hiking boots. First got the foot measured length and width to get the right shoe size. Then tried on some shoes and tested on an inclined step. Professional and friendly. My partner has never felt better in his shoes!!

Highly recommend this place especially if you’re struggling to get comfortable (the right) shoes!!!!

I am an experienced skier and have bought several pairs of custom fit boots over the years. I have never had a pair of boots that have been fitted as well as those done by Phil at Backcountry UK. Phil is obviously an expert (more of a craftsman really) who understood exactly how to manipulate my boots to give me the best fit I’ve ever had. After the first trip I was even able to return to iron out some niggles… all “part of the service”.
If you want the cheapest boots on the web don’t go here. If you want a slick operation that makes you feel like a VIP then you’re better off somewhere else. However, if you want the best ski boots for your specific feet fitted by experienced craftsmen who really care about their job then set aside a couple of hours and book in here, I certainly don’t regret making the trip here.

We drive 170 miles, from Wales, to get expert advice from these very patient and knowledgeable staff.
They have all the gear and all the idea!
Been skiing for 40 years and coming here for six years and would no longer shop anywhere else. Also good for walking shoes, rucksacks etc. Have also purchased insoles that have been moulded to my feet - worth every penny.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Just give them a try.

On a whim I decided to upgrade my 30yr old x-country ski kit. I phoned Backcountry UK on Wednesday morning last week, Phil helped me choose skis, bindings, boots and skins. Fitted the bindings, cut the skins and shipped everything to me for delivery on Friday, in time for a week of dream conditions in Scottish Borders. Outstanding service.
