Do not waste your time or risk your money. BJ Claims is a joke. They did absolutely nothing for my claim. As a matter of fact, they lost the pictures of the damage, don't return phone calls, try to blame the inept law firm THEY choose to use (Duboff law). It's so sad it's comical. The "receptionist" Brooke doesn't even know how to professionally respond to an email by at least simply replying, "Received". So, if you do email them receipts or proof of the repairs you've made, pictures of damage, heck if you email them anything you will never know if they got it or not.

I have lost count of how many times they've said they will call me back, they never do, neither does Duboff Law Firm. Brooke would say, Lawanna will call you back, but she doesn't. Michelle, if she's even still there is worse.They don't care about you or your claim. Quite honestly, they give Black owned businesses a bad name. You have the opportunity to shine and make a difference in the lives of people that have been through disasters and instead you choose to completely drop the ball and do absolutely nothing.

They came out in May 2023, took pictures of all the damage from a leaking roof from a storm, all the black mold and damaged furniture. Then the insurance carrier declared bankruptcy and the claim was assigned to FIGA. We had no choice but to make repairs, $80,000 worth of repairs. They asked us to send them all of the receipts, we did. Then randomly one day a year later (May 2024) I get a phone call from Adrian with a restoration company. He is in the area and BJ Claims asked him to come take pictures, no heads up, no nothing but I meet him anyway and upon his arrival he discloses they've lost the original photos of all of the damage. I tell him I still have some, he asks I email them to him. I email receipts and pictures. Brooke calls me a couple of weeks later to tell me the FIGA desk adjuster offered $5000. I ask her how that's possible. She admits they've lost the photos and don't have the estimate from the original claim. I tell her I HAVE a copy of estimate, it was emailed to both of us. She is surprised. I email her copies again of receipts of all the work that was done (drywall, carpet, paint, tile, new roof, mold remediation, etc) . She says Lawanna will call me back (again), but I never hear from Lawanna. Instead I get a call again from Brooke, the poor young receptionist left to deal with clients who doesn't know how to respond to an email, telling me that the desk adjuster at FIGA will close the case in 24 hours take the $5000 or leave it, oh and they will take their commission from that too. $5000 on a claim that came back with a $135,000 estimate from the people they themselves sent out.

Listen, I can't make it anymore clear, they suck. They don't know what they are doing. They aren't professional. You might as well walk down the street and pick any random stranger to handle your claim, I am sure they will do a better job.

Edit to add: miraculously after leaving my review Lawanna called me. She claims FIGA denied the claim and blames Duboff Law firm, again, the law firm they have on their contract, the law firm they choose to work with. It doesn’t change that the man from the remediation company said they lost the pictures and didn’t submit them and that’s why BJ Clamis was sending him out again, it doesn’t change that their very own receptionist said they didn’t have an estimate. It doesn’t change that they never call back. It doesn’t change my one star- zero star if possible review. Find someone else.
