We were with our previous accountant for about 15 years, but when they sold out and were becoming 'corporate' (and with their charges too) we decided it was time to change.

What we like is the personal touch for our small businesses, which we had enjoyed with our previous accountant.

From our first face-to-face meeting with Rachel, it was obvious that she would be able to offer this service. She is on the end of the phone to answer or help with any queries, or an email will always get a same day reply. She is friendly, approachable, and has been giving us an excellent service so far.

The most patient accountants of all time. I am an inexperienced, first time business owner and have fallen victim to the 'funding panics' more often than I'd like. Rachel and Kelly at BKS have both been supportive, understanding and good humoured about it.. even if I have called them in a bit of a stress. Not only have they helped me understand more about taxation and all the other joys of accountancy, but they have given me the space to use my business in a way that suits me, and have advised me on how I should be using the funds I have available - and where I may have made some simple mistakes, based on wrongful assumptions or advice from other people.

To give this review a frame for you: In terms of earnings I'll be honest, my company is not a big fish by any means, it's not even in the pond; but Rachel and Kelly both treat me, and my company, like it is the most important company on their books - having worked with them for nearly a year, I am confident that their other clients would agree with this sentiment.

I made the mistake of going with one of the big branded, easy quote, easy sign-up big accounting corporations, that target very new and inexperienced business owners, and regretted it within the first couple of months. So I called some local places and Rachel was the first person I spoke to that made me finally feel relieved about my finances, and really demonstrated the wealth of experience she has. Since then Kelly has gone above and beyond to ease my finance anxieties, help me manage my tax and get all my accounts up to date, when the first big company didn't do anything but make the whole process much harder than it needed to be.

In the age of digital services, apps and AI (all of which have their place) relying on myself, or an app to give myself the best advice, personal support and ease of mind just wasn't the route I wanted to take. I knew I wanted to work with people who knew their stuff.

Ultimately, BKS respond to all of my quick messages (no matter how naïve I'm being), answer all of my questions, and take the time to ensure that I am comfortable with what they are doing, understand why they are doing it and how the results affects me and my business (almost entirely positively thanks to them!)

Stop reading reviews and book an intro call with them ASAP.

Rachel and other members of the team have been fantastic! the company accounts were a mess from previous directors who were fraudulently using the accounts. I spoke with Rachel and told her the whole story, she completely understood and told me not to worry about a thing. i also kept forgetting to send them the information needed but Rachel kept in touch and had to prompt me which is what you want from an accountant, others generally just forget about you and then you end up with a fine for not filing your accounts, where as Rachel has been superb! and i would fully recommend using Rachel and BKS accounts, there isn't a better accountancy out there!

After ten years or more of being self employed i finally found an accountant that is amazing! Rachel is always happy and bubbly, but more importantly she is very professional always stays ahead/ organised, gets back to us with any answers to questions we have as soon as she can.
