Refused a claim for pandemic (COVID-19) under the cancellation section of their policy because I 'should have known it was coming' when I purchased the policy.

If I should have known, then so should they, and they shouldn't have been selling policies with the original wording - or should have added an exclusion clause. Appealed twice and still dismissed. Terrible company, to be avoided - along with their underwriters URV.

Getting mown down by a car, driving on wrong side of the road, whilst on a week-long organised cycling trip in Sardinia, which then ran over my bike – seemed almost pleasant compared to dealing with CityBondTravelSure (CBTS) and their claim handlers.
So day two of a week long holiday I’m hospitalised, and my two week old £3.5k bike is destroyed. The Fiat 500 that drove into me has big dents in the bonnet and the windscreen smashed in.
I say to CBTS:
Can you repatriate me? No
Can I claim for my lost holiday? No you stayed in Sardinia!
Can I claim any costs for staying on in Sardinia after the smash? Some –not much
Can I claim for my bike? No
The list goes on. Think the lowest point was one of their advisers saying “……if you read the T&C……yes I know this seems unfair……I know how you feel…….”
I’m now trying to recover losses and damages via a solicitor. Today I find out that the legal cover in my ‘Premium’ CBTS policy is so minimalist that I’ll have to hand over 25% to the solicitor. That’s if I see any settlement as due to Brexit and impeding loss of our links to regulatory frameworks – may claim may well vanish into the ether.

When insurance cancel refused to pay back premium, even though holiday cancelled . Then they have made it not viable if I now jump thru hoops, they have provided. Cost of persueing makes it prohibitive. The crooks will win again .

Con artists, keep away from these rip off merchants. My holiday cancelled due to Covid and they're refusing to repay the cost of my insurance policy as i did not cancel within 14 days of taking it out in February for a holiday in April .... crystal ball comes to mind😈😤😷

Typical Insurance company, using their small print and wording from the broker to get around paying out on a claim when my wife's father suddenly died from Luekaemia a week before we were to travel. I also waited 27 minutes for my call to be answered, disgusting in all departments, would rate them as a minus if I could.

Hi wouldn't recommend this company for any travel insurance. I tried cancelling the policy and they hit me with the 28 days cooling period. Then said there was administration fee of £15. What a joke of a company.
