Jack has had an active role in taking great care of the family home in Devon for quite some time now. He has advised and worked on various elements of keeping the property repaired and well maintained. His knowledge is second to none - we have learnt so much about cob built properties, their make-up, mix of materials, structure, age and sustainability - it has been a real education.

His care and attention ensured that when the team discovered a hidden 17th century inglenook fireplace behind a wall, they carefully restored it creating another fabulous feature in the house. Jack knew so many of the answers to questions we had, and where he didn't, he quickly found out.

He (and his fabulous team) have worked hard to ensure we have every confidence that he has applied ancient skills and historic working techniques to our property, giving us every confidence that work done will see us, and future generations, able to enjoy the building as it was supposed to be enjoyed - in it's original form.

Cob Solutions took part in our Low Impact Building Show at Petroc, Tiverton Campus on Friday 20th June 2014. They did an open workshop building a cob pizza oven and a cob bench. They did an amazing job, providing a hands on, informative and fun afternoon for all of those who took part.

The oven and bench were built within the roundhouse being built by Tanglewood, for the Supported learning Garden, where it will be used by the staff and students for years to come.

Cob solutions removed the cement-based render and repaired our cob cottage in Dorset, dealing with cracks in the cob and rotten lintels. Then re-rendered with lime and finished with lime wash. Great job. Hard working team, professional and experienced. Very chuffed.
