Phoned to periodically cancel my insurance while my car undergoes repairs, the customer service agent (Antonio) was a really friendly, helpful and decent guy. He sorted everything out on the phone for me, put me on hold a few times to make sure everything was sound before telling me that I would get a refund as I was a new customer within the 14 day limit. I am very thankful, I would recommend to other younger drivers.

EDIT: Coverbox has now gone into administration!! I was not informed of this! No email, no phone call nothing! They stopped taking payments so as far as I’m aware I’ve been driving around with no insurance as I thought my insurance was fine! Now at risk of loosing my years no claim as the insurer went into administration on the 8th July and my insurance wAs up for renewal on the 4 of August!! Disgraceful!

Started off all well, mid way through my policy I phoned up to change my address on the policy and they said it would change my premium from £80 a month to £130! Then said it should go down when i policy renews in August.. I then got an email as my policy is about to come to an end with a renewal price of £181 a month!!!! My first quote was £80, how can they put it up like that?! So I decided now to renew and found a better insurance provider.. I never had any other problems with insurance provider other than that, was simple enough arranging the black box fitting and everything went smoothly after that, I believe the company has changed now and is called something else.

I had to cancel my insurance due to a NON fault accident . Due to the extremely HIGH cancelation charges there is very little refund due. Be careful of all the extremely high charges when making the smallest of amendments. Accessing them via the phone is impossible and customer services take weeks to response. I would avoid this company at all cost. Maybe their MD Andrew Bennett should review their ratings

I got this for a cheap initial price as a new driver however I kinda wish i had gone for a better and more reputable provider. I changed address once and shortly after needed to change to business use - this cost me over £150 each time for admin etc. I know the costs are explained but it is still a blow and feels like you're being chiseled. Then I changed car and it cost me another £110 to have a new device installed plus the extra money as it's a newer car. To cancel would have cost a laughably extortionate amount and to lose my year of no claims. Wait time on the phones is crazy too - average 25 minute wait for me. The people on the other end of the phone are very nice & helpful but ultimately it just feels like the company is out to get whatever they can from you - I'm scared to phone them in case they grab more ! Guess the MD must be pretty rich... alright for some innit ! :/

Went to get insurance for my BMW 7 series, installation engineer come out two weeks after I started the car insurance and messed my car up. Ended up with having no speedometer and no reverse gear and my automatic pulling off in 3rd gear. Absolutely disgusted, no offered no courtesy car just told their engineer will make an appointment to try and solve the problem, when I booked the engineer to fit their box it took 2 weeks for them to come, meanwhile I am left without a barely working car in -4 degree weather. I would definitely NOT recommend this company to anyone or use this company again.

Started my coverbox policy 2 months ago and so far has been a bad experience. They charge admin fee of £40 on every little thing including adding a new driver and changing any details at all. Never had this experience with any other insurer before.

There pricing is good but they have loads of hidden charges so make sure to read the T&C

Also the engineer that came to install the box on my car looked unprofessional and tried to make a big deal of me having legal tints on my car threatening that my insurance could be cancelled due to me having 'modified' the car even though it was legal! Very annoying

Unbelievable. We bought a new car, they sent an 'engineer' who was not only very rude to my hubby but has blown the fuses which resulted in sound system not working. We had to pay 300 quid in the garage that gave us papers explaining how it happened- clearly stated its them. Now they don't want to give my money back sending me to claim company recommended by them. Are you kidding me- we've spend lots of time going back and forward from the garage and money. Do not use!!! The worst insurance you can choose!! Terrible experience, lots of stress

Bad start to a relatively new policy I'm afraid. I started cover on 28th April and subsequently got a call as promised a few days later to fit the device. This was arranged for 11th May (their earliest available date) and the engineer arrived promptly and was efficient. He photographed my proof of NCD and my driving license, I signed electronically and he was on his way. The following day I tried to access my "dashboard" but each time I tried to login I was diverted back to the homepage. I wasn't too concerned at the time as it was only 24 hours since the installation. The following day, the 13th, I received an email warning me that my cover would be cancelled if I did not have a device installed within 7 days. I emailed their enquiries email address to explain that my device had been fitted 2 days prior and that I was unable to access my dashboard and requested assistance. I received an auto response but have not received a reply to this. I then followed this up with a phone call to customer services on 17th to advise that I was struggling to access my dashboard, the representative told me that they would reset my dashboard and I would receive an email to advise me of this. I asked for an appromixate timescale and she said "I'm afraid I can't give you an exact timescale". I hadn't asked her for an exact timescale. I still have had no email or reply. It is now the 20th of May and I still am unable to access my dashboard, I have no idea if the device is active and was woken at 5am by an email from Coverbox to give me 7 days notice for the cancellation of my policy. Very disappointing customer service... And of course hugely concerning that come next weekend I may have no insurance.

I find it awfully convenient that they were unavailable to fit the device until I was 13 days into my 14 day cooling off period. I suspect that I won't be getting any funds returned to me when the cancel my policy next week!
