I have been dealing with properties for many years and on a purchase in Taunton, it was decided we should, based in the advise given, engage with a surveyor. I talked to a number of surveying companies and decided to take a full structural survey on the property in question. Croft Building Surveyors were our choice.
We were given clear assistance and timings and they responded promptly and on time.
The survey identified two potentially serious issues of non compliance with regulations and one roofing issue despite the roof having been fully replaces only 6 years ago.
The report was comprehensive, identifying immediate issues, as above, then medium and long term remedial works that were recommended to prevent future issues and this gave us everything we wanted to make a decision.
In negotiation with the seller these two issues were resolved fully and the actual cost of the corrective works was more than the cost of the survey, so it was a net gain for us. It also has prevented a definite worsening situation over time and reassured us of the need to have such a survey for any future acquisitions.

Crofts surveyors had been recommended to us by a family friend. I rang & spoke to Robin who very kindly sent me an email with all the different types of surveys & what benefits they gave. We then booked Robin to carry out our level 3 survey & he was brilliant throughout the whole process. He gave us back our survey & the level of detail was amazing.
