I have never had a worse experience with an insurer. Was completely misled during the sales process and convinced my bike would be insured while securely locked up outside my property. Even had a contract stating the same.

When the inevitable happened the company accused me of lying - even suggesting I was acting fraudulently when THEY had “forgotten” to update the details on my account.

Still no payout from them. Complete waste of time and the ombudsman doesn’t want to know. Now considering legal action against this company. DO NOT USE WATFORD INSURANCE COMPANY OR ANY OF THEIR PRODUCTS.

Terrible experience.
I cannot express enough how bad my experience has been with cycle guard.
They cancelled my policy without telling me and so when my bike was stolen and I tried to claim they are saying there is no active policy. No one contacted me to let me know, no one sent me an email and there is apparently nothing they can do. However they did still manage to take money out my account!
I have raised a complaint but unsurprisingly now no-one is getting back to me. Do not get insured with them, absolutely awful.

Useless. Total waste of money. Insurance fraudsters at their best. They have refused my claim saying that my bike was stored."away from the insured location", when it was in a private and gated parking area behind my house (plus being locked to secure railings, with top grade d-clock, you can't see the bike from the road or from the back) and that because the period between me leaving the bike and noticing it was gone was over 24 hours (because i had COVID and couldn't leave my house) they wont insure it. evil robots.

Managed to find every way conceivable to escape the policy. Bike locked out of public view with d-bolt and chain and covered to secure rails. Came back from a few days away to bike having been stolen. As my housemates have access to those railings (private but communal exit) it's not secure enough.
Customer service reps are friendly but the policy print is just vague enough to allow for easy escape.

Had bicycle insurance and subsequently changed my bike so needed to revisit the insurance. This so happened to fall at the end of the term. I wanted to shop around so I instructed them specifically not to renew. Then they took money out of my bank as they had decided to automatically renew my policy after ignoring my emails. Wrote 5 emails more to them, nobody responded. Got through to someone on the phone who didn't have any information on my correspondence. Have since wrote to them (a letter!) to their call center and to their offices - STILL NO RESPONSE a month later. They owe me two months as refund. Still no one talks to me. AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID

They pay to have their website advertised in the first 3 results on a Google search. When you do that for a service you do not offer, e.g. "Cycleguard Bicycle Insurance - Commercial Cycle Insurance" then you waste my time as I kept reading on your website, calling you a few times until someone eventually answered and clarified you do not offer commercial insurance.

Thanks for wasting my time. Your practices are quite dodgy.

You best make sure your bicycle is locked up any time you're not on that saddle, had left my bike outside my front house in the middle of the day and had a thief steal it in the time it took me to go to the toilet and that isn't covered. 2+ years of paying for insurance to be told they can't do anything for me. Cheers! On the flip side, really lovely customers service, it's just their policy that's horrible
