Cheap insurance is a false economy. If you have to claim you will pay a £50 excess, fair enough this is expected and agreed upon. You will also have to pay a "change to policy fee" to put your new bike on the insurance. This varies depending on how long is left on your contract. This charge is not specifically outlined anywhere, no matter what they tell you. It is a hidden charge.

It also too 2 months for me to get my reimbursement/voucher as Cycleplan is underwriter by Davies Group, which is underwritten by the actual insurer so any issues take forever and they all just blame the other companies and refuse to take responsibility.

Spend a bit more money and save money in the long run...plus your time and stress!

If they reply to this saying the hidden charge is outlined in the policy, believe me it is not. It just says any changes to the policy will incur a fee (doesn't even list what constitutes a change and what the charges are).

Hidden costs! Increase your monthly bill without gaining consent or telling you and then charge cancellation fees when you wish to cancel (£30 pound cancellation fees!!!!)

SLOW and unresponsive - Not worth the cheap premium
Do not use this company if you expect/need a quick response to a claim. I would strongly recommend not buying insurance with them.
I had my bike damaged and parts stolen in July. I got a crime report and all the required document to Cycleplan (and the claim management company they use called 'davies-group') the next day. I rang them a week later to ask what was the delay and they told me that they normally take 3-5 working days, so I should expect my response shortly.
I still have had no response or communication from them, apart from when I ring up to complain (after spending a long time on hold). There is no sign when this will be resolved.
I use my bike to commute and so this is incredibly frustrating and costly.
A few years ago I made a similar claim with Velosure and they approved the claim within 4 days.
Big mistake going with this company for the cheaper premium. Its not worth the saving of a few pounds.

- UPDATE: 8 weeks later - they still haven't responded to the proof of robbery documents I sent. They also lost those documents at least twice.

Overpriced with no interest in providing a decent customer service. Their third-party direct debit credit partner Premium Credit took two payments on the same day, then fined me £25 for not signing a renewal form on time - I thought my bank account had been hacked! Definitely one to avoid.

Awful experience. I provided them photo of my bike which was stolen. I had a Silver level lock which normally insures bikes up to 1000 GBP - my bike was 2000 GBP so needed a gold lock, however they refused to at least cover me for 1000 GBP which they would normally do. DO NOT INSURE WITH THEM.

Where to start!

I now have a claim that has been on going for over six months with constant issues right from the start.

From lack of communication and keeping me informed of what is going on, to being unable to open reports from their specified repairer, having to use my own bike box for transport because theirs was unfit for purpose (was sent a massively oversize cardboard box), bike received back after being away for eight weeks with the wrong size parts on.

I made a complaint, which they were quick to respond to but it still took another month to send the bike back to me. It is now back at home but unridable as the specified repairer has not bled the brakes properly and the front mech is not working. Another compliant made.

Still ongoing and seemingly no closer to a resolution.

Awful service, avoid at all costs.

If you live in a flat with little space, don't bother as they won't insure your bike if you rent a fully enclosed, bolted down on street cycle hanger.
