I was shocked when the lady asked me (after politely greeted me) how I will pay my “debts” which I do not have because it is a mistake made by the Buckinghamshire Council and I never received any request of payment from anybody. After I explained the situation the lady understood and change her attitude and suggested me to write to the Council which I did immediately and they will answer within 2 weeks. The day after I received another and very very aggressive request to pay in 7 days or an Enforcement Agent will come to take away goods to cover the debt!!
They make you feel like a criminal!
What will happen if they are coming to my home before the Council will answer
I understand they are doing their job but maybe they should write some note in your file like “waiting for instructions from the Council” or similar.
Following 1st review: I spoke today with another person that cannot fix my problem but he was very nice, polite and a little bit sorry for my situation. I understand their position but is nice to receive some human treatment for a change! I don’t know his name but thank you very much!

This company is a literal joke, 2 months now I've been trying to throw money at them for an outstanding debt. I can't call or answer the calls because I work out in the sticks and their office hours are when I work, which they would know if they answered all the emails I've been sending to several different emails for months on end. But fine, I love when I get bombarded with notifications every now and again when I get signal, let the debt build up because you literally can't be bothered to answer.

These people are insane. I offered to set up a payment plan. They said it has to be paid in 12 months, at 250 per month. I can't afford that, got told they'd just send bailiffs, and I'd incur the costs. I told them I have nothing for the bailiffs, so we'd all end up with nothing. I offered again, to pay a smaller amount. Agent acted like he didn't understand me. After a few hours of talking to family I have assistance to pay the desired amount, but then I had to pay a downpayment and then the regular payment a few days later, not allowing to set it up after payday. Which means I have to get together 3 payments in order to get ahead of the payments.
Absolutely nuts. If your debt has gone to these people, I am so sorry. I can't wait to be rid of them in their precious 12 months.

I dealt with Seamus today who helped me with an overpaymet. It was quick and really great customer service. I have read some of the reviews that have been left by other people and I am shocked that so many have not had a good experience with Dukes as mine as been so easy. I even had a payment last month that I couldn't pay and they sorted it out with me very quickly and easily to help me. I can say that I have had a great experience with them.

I have dealt with a few of these firms over the years for various reasons, and my general experience has usually been that they are unpleasant bullies who have no regard for your personal situation, indeed many seem to enjoy inflicting misery on others.
This is not the case with these guys.
If you have the misfortune of being in a position where you have to deal with bailiffs then you could do a lot worse than having to deal with Dukes!
They are approachable and they will listen and try to help, they have a job to do but unlike most they do it with understanding and compassion.
Just talk to them and they will listen and help get a resolution which is agreeable, if possible.
Remember, a lot of the time their hands are tied too!
My only complaint is they are absolutely useless at answering the phone!
Request a call back and they will get back to you when they say they will!
On the whole a good, fair firm to deal with!

After a year from hell I found myself dealing with a bailiff over an unpaid bill. This is not usually an experience you would value the customer service element of, but great people within businesses deserve credit. Matt from Dukes was always honest, reasonable and extremely helpful. I am sure he influences colleagues and the bright future of the business positively

Scammers and none can stop them apparently. Received a letter about a missed payment from 9 years ago. After finished paying my plan. They somehow never received one of the payments and are now refusing to accept any of my proof that that money has gone through. My bank has confirmed it, but still not good enough to them. I've sent my bank statements, payment references and now they asking me to pay all the same amount again or I get enforce agents. How is this legal?!

BULLIES! my mum owes somewhere in the region of £3,000 due to her constantly being hospitalised with terminal breast, bone and brain cancer, she phone dukes when she went into hospital and told them she could pay in which the person on the phone answered "no we don't take payments, you have to do it through your agent" so mum left the guy a message to call her back so she could pay and he never did. Months go by and now they are demanding £1000 today! mum explained there's no way she can send them £1000 but can do £250, they refused and threatened bayliffs to come and take goods, mum was trying to explain that she was in hospital but the guy kept talking over her saying it's her fault and she should of continued to call if he never called. We then had another call due to the first guy disconnecting us because I called him a bully but this time the woman seemed like she wanted an argument, continuesly saying mums to blame for there agent not phoning back and disregarding the fact she's terminally ill and in hospital 4 days a week sometimes and bedbound the rest of the week. After I clearly stated that we couldn't pay £1000 and if they're not willing to accept less then we might aswell just end the call and send the bayliffs round, she continued to try and argue with me about it's our fault and responsibility, in the end I just had to bluntly say whatever and goodbye because she would not stop trying to argue
