On learning we required an Asbestos Management Survey completing asap, I googled local businesses, I was instantly drawing to the clarity and visually pleasing site of Environmental Inspection Ltd. I left a message on and answerphone, within half an hour Chris was in contact and exceptionally helpful. He advised in advance of all costs, which are extremely competitive and very reasonable, and we booked a appointment. Chris showed up on time, very friendly and knowledgeable. The survey and samples were taken and within the week we had our very comprehensive report back. I cannot recommend Chris and his company highly enough and we are more than happy to recommend/use him again in the future.

They turned up and did the survey efficiently and a few days later inform of completion of survey. Invoice was sent which you pay then you get your report. Very good job. Price of survey was very reasonable. You only pay when report is ready and after payment you are emailed the report. Very reliable firm. I have used them a few times. All good.

We arranged for Chris / Environmental Inspection Ltd to undertake an asbestos management survey at a property we are purchasing. This was as a result of a homebuyer’s report which identified three areas of risk in terms of asbestos. Chris offers a variety of surveys, however, opted for the management survey which included five samples.

Chris came across very helpful and knowledgeable; both quickly arranging to attend the property on a Monday and then returning the survey the following Friday by email in PDF format which is very well laid out and contained sufficient information to allow us to move forward.
We had agreed a cost upfront which was £342. Chris submitted his invoice which was for £454.This represents a 32% increase on our anticipated costs. We were disappointed not to be made aware of the additional costs prior to them taken, mainly as three of the eleven additional samples (@8.50 per sample) were for a clearly ramshackle shed that didn’t appear to have any form of asbestos, indeed, the samples returned negative results. So, whilst we might have expected additional samples, we felt such a substantive increase in cost and quantity, seemed excessive, certainly without asking or informing us prior. We felt we could have achieved the same results with the five samples as we had already indicated the area of risk and only three samples identified asbestos.

We do acknowledge that we are largely unfamiliar with asbestos testing and Chris’ quote did detail additional samples may be taken, we just weren’t aware of the potential of so many more samples being taken without prior information.

As feedback to Chris, contractors should speak to the Client when any increase in scope will result in increased costs, certainly at this value.
However, Chris did react quickly to our requirements and the quality of report was there so I would recommend if you require a quick and detailed service.
