Very disappointed! It turned out to be a waste of my time.

We bought two cars through Ethos in 2018 and dealt with Kirsten at the time, who was a delight to speak with. Very efficient.

But it looks like things have changed since then, and not for the better, I must say.

I spoke with Robyn last week about buying another car, but her lack of communication and customer service has been appalling!

I found it very odd that they need you to fill out tons of paperwork and do identity checks, and worse, they need to see your bank statement for the last 3 months so they can send you an email with a quote with a few simple numbers. Then, you have to be approved by their lenders to put you on a waiting list of their “tons of clients, I was told,” on a first-come, first serve! It’s like a bidding war to buy a car, which is ironic. We all have bought cars before, and the process is simple: you put in a deposit to secure the vehicle, the lender does the check, and in a few days, you get an answer yes or no.

Anyway, due to their attractive offer, I gave them the green light last Friday to do the checks and was told they would call me on Monday this week to let me know. It’s Saturday today, yet no call. Attached is their last text through their app.

Ironically, I have referred them to at least 10 chauffeurs (2 last week alone) and told them that we are an existing client and a company that we don’t mess around with, yet they still don’t seem to care or appreciate their existing clients or referrals.

I can only assume that they are only interested in buyers with small deposits, so their interest margin can be more significant; they no longer offer to arrange finance through MBF or BMW (main dealers), and the APRs are much cheaper than their lenders - so it's something to wonder why.
