I was recently reminded of our dealings with Foot Anstey. We had Suzanna Horsfall deal with the purchase of our new build in 2018 and she added almost £300 onto our quote just 3 days before the completion (along with some aggressive and sarcastic emails late at night) and held the keys ransom until we paid this. No proper invoice was issued for these additional requested funds. She admits herself, that these fees would not have been made evident to us before this date, and that she was only just now letting us know. She made the entire process an utter headache and communicated in an unprofessional manner throughout.

We have just completed on the sale of house and purchase of a new one, this was handled by Chloe and Emily from the Taunton office, always a quick response to questions we posed, overall they were efficient, direct and pleasant with it, arguably the best conveyancers we have used 👍

Unprofessional, inefficient, and with a very poor attitude, they will continuously demand various non-existent or hard-to-obtain but completely unnecessary documents from you. They will also persistently trouble you on financial proofs with a very irresponsible attitude. Using their services will make you feel like they are your bosses rather than your clients. Disgusting. It’s best for them to go bankrupt IMMEDIATELY.

We used Foot Anstey for conveyancing work on both a sale and purchase. The Conveyancers we were allocated (Rebecca Davies and Jennifer Carter) and their teams were exceptional from start to finish. Excellent speed, efficiency and empathy for a difficult process like we'd never expect from a Legal firm. Highly highly recommended, and very reasonable cost too.

Foot Anstey handled my mother's estate when she died a few years back.
Dealing with one of the simplest estates imaginable (an old lady dies in possession of a flat she owns outright and a few thousand in savings, leaving a will dividing the estate between her son and grandsons), they doubled their initial costs estimate from £1000 to £2000 with no explanation, refused to give an explanation when one was politely requested, tried to get me to settle for £1750 using a bunch of spurious arguments but no hint of an answer to my query, and somehow contrived to pay the undertaker's bill twice over (my thanks to Co-op Funeral Services for their honesty and professionalism, two qualities Foot Anstey seem utterly unacquainted with).
I cannot imagine having worse, or worse handled, service than I received from Foot Anstey. I am giving them one star only because zero is not an option.

Absolutely shocking solicitor. Slow, inefficient, do not answer the phone with poor communication throughout and single handidly broke down a small easy chain.
