Be very careful!

In my experience their policies are misleading and not fair. When I took the policy they stated that burglary is covered for items that 'remain in the house' however they also say that items that You can or do take outside the house…' are not covered. By definition any item which can be stolen MUST be able to be taken outside the house. We fell victim to this contradiction. Even their claims company said that this is a very unusual policy and urged us to challenge it. Although they may be legally correct in refusing such a claim this method of doing business seems very dishonest. Please don't fall for this like we did!

Had policy 2 years back with additional Home Emergency Cover. They were unable to respond to a loss of heating and hot water over a very cold spell. Endless poor communication, appointed trades not showing up, one that did eventually show fabricated the works required to fix boiler, in the end with their permission we contacted own plumber and it was fixed on the day. It was my birthday and I was on my annual leave at that time, absolutely ruined by the whole experience. We were without heating and hot water a total of 6 days. Home Emergency Cover useless.

I have recently taken up new home insurance elsewhere and am now annoyed further to discover my home emergency call out with Frontier counted as an insurance claim?!!!

I purchased building insurance in January and due to major renovation work - I have now had to take out insurance with another company.
Frontier login was easy, clear and self explanatory. After cancellation it prompted an email to advise what refund I would receive.
I think this is a great service and I would return to Frontier when I renovation work is cmpleted.

AVOID! If I could give zero stars, I would.

My experience with Frontier Home Insurance has been nothing short of appalling. I submitted a legitimate claim after a severe leak from the flat above caused significant water damage to my belongings, including contamination from insulation, plaster, and foul-smelling greywater(sewage). Despite providing extensive evidence (photos, videos, receipts, a plumber’s report, and a full itemised inventory), Frontier delayed, deflected, and ultimately refused to honour the policy.

They initially tried to reject the claim on the grounds that I reported it “outside the 28-day window”, even though I acted reasonably and in good faith while waiting for the upstairs neighbour’s insurer to respond. When that excuse failed, they offered to pay 50% of the claim, effectively admitting it was valid, only to then revoke the offer and try to void my entire policy based on a supposed misrepresentation of my insurance history.

Even after I provided written proof from my previous insurer showing I did have valid overlapping cover, Frontier changed their justification yet again, this time claiming that because I hadn’t held the previous policy for exactly 12 months, I was never eligible. That kind of hair-splitting is not just unreasonable, it’s disgraceful.

The way Frontier handled my claim was obstructive, inconsistent, and clearly designed to avoid paying out. They’ve caused me immense stress, wasted countless hours of my time, and left me out of pocket. I’ve now taken the matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service and will be sharing my experience across every platform I can.

Avoid Frontier at all costs. If you ever need to make a claim, you’ll find out just how little they care about policyholders.

I had a flood 1st Jan 25,only now is building work being done.
With regards contents frontier have shafted me. They contract out their claims to a company called Evolution, and they contract out claim evaluations again, so you don't have a single point of contact. This is my 1st claim on house insurance in 25 yrs, nightmare.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS, ONLY USE Frontier if you dont want to be properly isured.
If I could put ZERO stars I would.

Misleading Insurer - reported

I took out an insurance policy. They said because I work from home that my home is a business and that isnt covered. I assume that means if you do any WFH they will us this to invalidate you policy but still take your payment.

I paid for the full year in advance and they refused to send me the invoice

They came up the cheapest on a comparison site. I am now finding out why.

Before taking out a policy with Frontier read all the reviews below. There is a common theme amongst all who have tried to make a claim – Frontier will do everything they can to welch out of paying. They hide behind having no call centre (for them or their claims management company) and do not respond to email.
I logged a claim in June for a leaking pipe and here I am a week ahead of Christmas, 6 months later with no central heating and 2x young children under the age of 12. They are apparently investigating previous undisclosed claims (which weren’t claims) and have provided no update on how long the investigation will take. Quite what is taking so long I don’t know. I have provided all relevant information and still no response. I have offered to help with the investigation but still no response.
They will no doubt respond to this review in a timely manner with empty, meaningless words thanking me for the feedback and say they’re trying to improve their services. But nothing will change and I’m still left in limbo with no progress to my claim.
All the good reviews they have are from people saying they provided a good price. They’re happy to take your money until you need to make a claim and then it’s worthless. Our case is now being investigated by the Financial Ombudsman. Don’t make the same mistake I did, save yourself time and stress by insuring with someone else. Avoid at all costs.

Was cheap compared to competitors, but the terms and conditions are far more narrow than the other insurance I have quotes for. I cancelled in cooling off period (indeed, same day of purchase) and they are keeping £36 “admin fee”, which I am contesting.
