Absolutely appalling company.
I have had my buildings & contents insurance with them for 2 years. The first year (2022), they emailed me somebody else’s insurance documents instead of mine. No apology was given for the error and I doubt they informed their other customer for the breach either.
This year, they called me the afternoon my policy was due to expire, to inform me that they couldn’t guarantee they would be able to provide me with my renewal before the policy ran out, because the insurance provider had ‘not got back to them yet’. I suggested that they needed to chew the ear off the provider to get a response and get my insurance sorted before it expired. All they could tell me was that they’d ’chased them’ and subsequently, they left me without any home & contents insurance overnight and didn’t seem at all bothered about that!
The next day, they called me with a quote. When I questioned it to make sure it was a like for like policy to cover my needs, they didn’t know and had to go back to the provider to check! Meanwhile, I couldn’t wait any longer and arranged my insurance, stress free and cheaper, via an alternative company, as I couldn’t be left without cover.
When GSI eventually did respond, the policy had been adjusted and an extra £80 added to the quote! I told them that this was not acceptable and they honestly couldn’t have cared less! No apology was given for their utter incompetence!
If anything had happened to my property whilst uninsured, the consequences don’t bear thinking about and this company would not have lost any sleep over their shortcomings.
Avoid GSI insurance at all costs!

GSI have provided me with good quality car insurance and house and contents insurance as well as breakdown cover and European cover. I have found the staff attentive and polite and willing to assist. The price has been impossible to match anywhere else and renewals are always more competitive. This company has saved me a great deal of money over years. The only insurance company i can recommend.

Update. I have renewed my insurance with GSI again, they still manage to provide me with excellent coverage at competitive prices. Their staff are always helpful and friendly and are even available beyond the normal office hours. I have moved my house insurance to them as well, again a good policy with the extras I need at a great price. What more could you want.

Have been using GSI Insurance for several years. Always find staff courteous, helpful and polite, they always call back when they say. Always been willing to do searches for competitively priced premiums for both home and car insurance. Very helpful when my teenager started driving earlier this year also giving him good advice.
