Extremely Disappointed – Highly Recommend Avoiding Haven Insurance

I am writing to express my complete dissatisfaction with the appalling service I have received from Haven Insurance. After my vehicle was deemed a total loss following an incident where their client was fully liable, I was initially assured that compensation would be forthcoming. However, this promise has not been honoured, and my experience with the company has been nothing short of frustrating and unprofessional.

Despite repeated attempts to contact them for updates, I have been met with evasive responses, frequent transfers, and in some cases, the call simply being terminated without explanation. When I did manage to speak to a representative, I was informed that the process could take up to a year and that they could not provide any definitive timeline for resolution. This level of uncertainty and delay is completely unacceptable, particularly given that liability was fully admitted by their client.

Haven Insurance’s lack of transparency, coupled with their failure to deliver on promises, has left me in a difficult and stressful situation. The utter disregard for customer service is deeply concerning, and I am left with no confidence in their ability to handle claims in a professional or timely manner (it has been almost 5 months now).

I strongly advise anyone considering Haven Insurance to think twice before engaging with this company. My experience has been nothing short of disappointing, and I would not recommend them to anyone.

First of i would give haven claims 0 stars if i could absolute joke,
so this claim process has taken 165 days!
so this will be a long review
Incident - July 3rd my vehicle was stolen, robbed my apartment got the keys drove off.
Recovery - 2 days later the police recovered my vehicle
Claim- initially they told me my vehicle was wrote of which was surprising, then i was told that this was a mistake and thank god as they valued the vehicle at 8k and 15k was left on the finance.

i have probably spent 100's of hours on hold to them,

i then had to hire a vehicle which i had to pay for and they did in the end reimburse this 1000 pounds which was a nightmare to get but put me out of pocket initially rather than telling me at the get go was eligible for a curtesy car.

so now into august September i am constantly chasing them and all i get is 'WE ARE WAITING ON THE PARTS'

i message the motor shop that is doing the repair work they have accepted SOME repairs but other ones they will not do, so there was dints bumps all over my vehicle they said was there before i did it which was certainly not.

I am picking my vehicle up tomorrow and taking it straight for an M.O.T as i don't trust them one bit.

one minute the vehicle was written off, then it was perfectly fine, then it was a BIG JOB quote then back to running great.

So now bring us to December i have had a hire vehicle for 165 days and have paid the insurance, tax, finance on my stolen vehicle which was left in the hands of haven claims.

This hole ordeal has left me out of pocket about £15,000 i could have bought a new bloody car for that. due to loss of earnings mainly.

I really feel entitled to compensation for how long i have waited its been half a year to fix the locks on the truck apparently.

I am defiantly not renewing my policy absolutely unbelievable never ever ever have i experienced such incompetency and i have experienced my fir share trust me do not go for these i recommend Aviva.

and to top it off i have to pay £600 excess fee which they wouldn't wave put of kindness considering iv had no vehicle for 6 month!

Shocking company, AVOID. I made the mistake of not going through an accident management company who would have been far better at fighting my corner, but thought I'd avoid using one to keep the total claim cost down, badly regret. Absolutely horrendous company to deal with their client hit my car and accepted liability, they decided to write off my car and valued it at 2/3 of the market value, established by the fact that the cheapest ones for sale in the country were 33% more and Auto trader valuation was also about 33% more, there is nobody to talk to and now leaving me with no option but to sue their client who they have left unprotected by their mis valueing of cars.

Avoid This Company
They are a con company, 1 Star rating is way too high for them.
I insured my Van with them for £14,800. Also there client crashed into the back of me, but because its the same insurance I had to claim on my own policy they said until liability has been established.
I need a van for work other than being offered £7000 half the value of my van I have been waiting 2 months for an offer and been unable to work.
This company does not care.
I will be contacting the ombudsman this company should be shut down so others don't get scammed.

This insurer wrote our vehicle off when it had very minor front bumper and grill damage. What we owed the finance company was far more than they valued the vehicle. Every time husband rang, they the advisor talked over him to throw him off and was always abrupt and had a terrible attitude. We lost out massively in the end. Do not use this insurance company. They are cheap but they’re cheap for a reason. Always use a reputable UK insurance company.
They should be shut down!

Haven are a cowboy outfit that writes off vehicles unnecessarily so they can make profits. When you question their desktop assumptions you’re swiftly treated with distain and given mixed advice that pushes you into situations that removes responsibility from their own accountability.

I was right to question their decision to write off my vehicle as the repairs finally were £2,500 lower than their lowest estimates, they also didn’t provide me with a temporary vehicle when I’m covered for it as an added option.

When I demanded a second opinion from an approved repairer, they use technicalities to get away from their obligations.

My van was fixed in the end but I had to pay for my own temporary replacement vehicle, I’ve even taken them to court through another insurance policy which has cost them money to defend.

I lost my case on a technicality because I demanded the vehicle be taken to an approved repairer as they were stubborn to provide me with information I requested. Even if it’s an approved repairer and I paid the approved repairer excess, they still used my request as a reason to say it was my own garage choice.

This company is completely dishonest and will use anything to get away from taking responsibility. They talk to their customers rudely as the judge heard in court and she even said she sympathises with me for what I went through, but still a technicality means they got away with it.

Worst insurance company we have ever dealt with. Can’t get through to them. They pass you around. You end up repeating yourself over and over again. They have had my car in for repair for a few weeks and have not bothered to communicate with me about the repairs and when I would have my van back

Literally they do not deserve ever 1 star.
They didn't investigate my claim they just assumed I was at fault and paid the other party witouth even making me aware of it. No communication was ever made on their side to us at all about this. I found out 3 years later thanks to another insurance company. Now I have to pay 350 pounds extra for not reporting a faulty claim I didn't even know about. We didn't even touch the car. When caught not doing their job properly they even had the audacity to answer "well claim is closed know I don't know what you wuold like me to do".
Just DISGUSTING.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
