In 2023 I set myself a task to discover a local independant company or IFA who could provide myself and my wife with honest, transparent and 'straight talking' financial advice on our potential retirement options.

I had historically been receiving pension advice from our companies financial advisor, but it was always via Zoom video calls which I always felt were a little remote and lacking in personal connection and warmth... compared to one-to-one meetings.

After multiple meetings with various local financial companies, I felt that we hadn't yet found our perfect fit... either the company was too large, too small, too corporate or too expensive.

After feeling a little disillusioned, I remembered that we'd used Filer Knapper for some accountancy work... and asked if they could recommend anyone. Chris our contact there without hesitation said Andrew and the team at Heritage Investments were who he used personally. That was good enough for us!

I arranged a preliminary meeting for us at the Heritage Christchurch office and we were greeted like old friends. Their receptionist was very smiley and welcoming and Andrew and Tom were super friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Our meeting was only supposed to last an hour, but we were so engrossed with all the options available to us... that it lasted well over 2 hours. We left with our heads buzzing... full of facts and figures... we needed a lie down in a dark room.

Over the next few months as I was so busy at work, I put on hold any further pension discussions... however it gave us the opportunity to really think about who we'd really like to work with. Without hesitation we both reached the same conclusion... Heritage Investments.

I got back in contact with Tom Parkinson and arranged a second meeting where we explored all of our pension retirement options... and at that point we were all a lot clearer on our objectives and timelines. I explained to Tom that the job I was in was fast-paced, demanding and very results driven... and I would expect the same exacting service from Heritage. Tom reassured me he was up the challenge, so we mutually agreed their fee structure and instructed them to handle our pension business.

Over the next 4-months, Tom and the team (special mention to Briony and Hannah) answered every query we had efficiently...and even if they didn't know the answer they found out and reported back promptly. We were provided with weekly updates... and emails and various pdfs were shared with us on a very regular basis. Our new annuity pensions were all set up within the timescales we had agreed and all done with humour, politeness and professionalism.

Now that we have concluded our pension business with Tom and Andrew... we will definately use them again for any future investment and financial advice. We have already suggested Heritage Investments to our family and friends and we have no hesitation in recommending them unreservedly.

Recommending this Company is easy, everyone I have spoken to there is very friendly and helpful. Stephen Worboys has looked after my late Husband's and my finances for a very long time and when my Husband died, Steve not only helped me sort out his investments, Steve also provided me with all the tools I needed for probate purposes, in addition to helping me with another ongoing issue we had from something else (nothing to do with Heritage) and got me through a difficult time in that I did not have to worry about transferring or dealing with most things of a financial nature.
