On Saturday 20/09/2025. I received excellent face-to-face service from Sean Davies along with telephone communications with Isaac and Sudhir. All 3 were helpful, knowledgeable, patient, and empathetic. Great service at HSBC Southend as usual.

An awful experience, only made bearable by diligent staff.
Not able to deposit coins. Please drive to the Rayleigh branch.
Cash deposit machine tried several times to accept my cash, despite being helped by staff, before it overheated and failed. I had to take £60 cash back, while the queue of people that’d grown behind me had to choose another machine.
I had to reinstate an unused ISA, spent a while filling in details on a computer (I was overseen by a lovely member of staff) only to receive a written confirmation 8 days later that had my birth date written as my Nat Ins no. Any corrections to be sent back using the pre paid envelope (which wasn’t supplied) meaning I’ve no idea where to send the correction.
I now have to park in Southend and suffer the ‘digital branch’ again.
By the way, I walked across the road, and the nice people working at the desk in the Co-oP bank took my coins and £60 in an instant.
Not any point having an account here.

The most unhelpful bank. Turned up today to deposit cash and there are no tellers here anymore as they’ve been cut, so no way to deposit change. After going over the road to change them to notes, came back five mins later and they had shut the branch early at 1pm due to “air conditioning”. It was positively chilly before I left so unsure how that came about, but it was a lot colder than most of the other buildings around here.

Absolutely fuming after finishing call to 2 seperate agents this afternoon. Total waste of 40 mins of my time with no resolution at all from either. Obvious both wfh with a dog barking on one call, left so long on hold think she went way to feed or walk it. Not happy!

Unsatisfactory experience. Long queue. Just two staff on a Saturday. Lots of tech: 10 terminals and 4 iPads, all unused, mainly because they're counter-intuitive! Cheque rejected because no paying in slip, which I am crrrently holding. I'll just queue some more 😕

Incredible rude staff, keep rolling eyes on people, intentionally wasting my time and speak rudely.

Rolling eyes over 5 times with a short conversation. Never saw rude people like this in my life.

The worst bank in this place.
