I started seeing Dr Iqbal a few months ago. This was initially to find anti depressants for my depression as my doctor refused to adjust any mental health medication due to being prescribed by a psychiatrist over 9 years ago.

My first appointment went very well. I was with my therapist and Dr Iqbal did not push with my mental health history when it became obvious I was distressed. The forms for PTSD, anxiety and depression were sent through quickly and the results scored up just as quick.

I was put on the medication I requested to try and have had regular reviews before each renewal to see how I was getting on. I have been going up in stages to reduce side effects.

So far the progress has gone well and my mental health hasn’t been as bad as it was and I feel more stable.

Dr Iqbal does listen and is very caring. Explains everything in a way that is easy to understand.

I’d definitely recommend as a psychiatrist.

I cannot recommend Dr. Iqbal highly enough. My original ADHD diagnosis was actually done by a different psychiatry service, but I had some issues with them, so I hunted around for an alternative treatment provider, and happened upon IamPsychiatry.
I'm so glad I did!
The difference was like night and day. Obviously I had to be reassessed before Dr. Iqbal could treat me, but the wait for an appointment was much shorter than at most other ADHD clinics, and everything went very smoothly.
Dr. Iqbal immediately put me at ease, and I felt heard and understood, which was a fairly rare experience for me with previous clinicians! He takes time to listen to your concerns, and works with you to find the right treatment path that *you* need, understanding that all patients are different, with different bodies and brains. He also offers a more holistic approach, taking diet and other environmental factors into consideration and discussing those with you in addition to prescribing medication.
The cherry on top was when he was able to help me set up a shared care agreement with my GP – an outcome which can be drawn out, complicated, and not always attainable, especially if your initial diagnosis was made by a private ADHD specialist. My situation was no different, and the process wasn't completely without hurdles, but Dr. Iqbal went above and beyond to help me, and we got there in the end!
Communication is efficient and friendly – Dr. Iqbal's amazing secretary, Pam, responds quickly and kindly, and since the admin team were the main reason why I moved on from my previous ADHD clinic, that was super important to me.
All in all, I would recommend IamPsychiatry to anyone who thinks they might have ADHD, who needs an assessment but doesn't want to wait months or even years, or who needs to speak to a psychiatrist for any other reason (Dr. Iqbal also helped me with an anxiety issue).
I have been recommending them to anyone who's asked... it's just taken me a little while to get around to writing this review. lol
