A few days ago we had our annual Financial Review with JFM. Sometimes the Review meeting has been held at the JFM offices in Sutton Coldfield, and sometimes it has been more convenient to have a Zoom session - this time it was a Zoom, with Mike Jordan and James Jordan. We started the session with a general catch-up with Mike, who we have come to know well over the years, then James joined us as we got to the business part of the meeting. We had filled in their annual review questionnaire and we went through this item by item with Mike and James. We were surprised that James was quickly able to identify some anomalous answers, which in turn threw up some enquiries we will have to make, with our accountant and the Pensions authority, to make sure we are receiving the correct pension payments each month. These anomalies might easily have been missed if James had not spotted them - very impressive attention to detail James!
Mike and James are always on the lookout for opportunities to minimise cost and tax liabilities, and we are confident that our exposure now is as low as it could be, making the most of our income. Our attitude to risk is taken into account in the recommendation of investment choices.
James has some very good financial forecasting software and is able to produce very clear and easy-to-follow forecasts of our income, expenditure and cashflows as we move into future years and grow older. Using these tools he is able to allow for predictable changes in our circumstances, but also to see how the picture would change - 'what-ifs' - if unforeseen situations were to arise. His graphical analyses are clear and easy to follow, and being able to see that we will still have the resources to enjoy a comfortable lifestyle is very reassuring.

All in all we have found that allowing JFM to manage our savings and investments has taken away all the anxiety and uncertainty we previously felt whenever we had to make investment decisions. Their advice is clear, logical and always well explained, and we have always enjoyed their very personalised, one-to-one customer relationship - we can always speak to someone who knows our case and it's a genuine pleasure to work with Mike and James and their team.
