As Secretary of our local cricket during the Covid Pandemic I was task with maintaining the Stability whilst the club was closed or partially closed.
For this reason and to guide and assist me I reach out to Ian McCleave his understanding and expertise in this area was invaluable. Ian was coerced onto the committee to assist in every aspect of our club.

Within 6 months and with Ian’s vast knowledge we were able to restructure the club from top to bottom.

With Ian financial know how he rebuilt our internal accounts system so that it accurately balances the books enabling it to reflect true numbers.

Ian also has a wealth of knowledge within the pub licensing industry and not only rebuilt our till system that allow us to see real time numbers which allowed us to reduce our prices and manage stock in a more controlled manner.

During tough times, tough decision had to be made and by my side we were able to successfully negotiate redundancy packages and renegotiate staff contracts and hours reducing our overheads. He also managed the furlough scheme communicating closely with the HMRC to ensure everything was above board.

On the Cricket side Ian worked closely with the Club Captain and chairman and formulated a wish list for new equipment, this also including successfully obtain a number of grants within the sustainability parameters.

With out Ian’s contribution, Knowledge and passion I doubt the club would have survived. Now it is a thriving Cricket club with over 200 cricketer young and old and a large social membership.
