Took my mum for a CT scan today at Kingsbridge’s ‘new’ clinic at King’s Hall.
1. Could not believe the extortionate parking price of £3 per hour to park on the suburbs of Belfast. This is disgraceful and the point that Kingsbridge make about giving it to charity does not help. I like to choose carefully which charities I support and do not wish for a third party to advocate for me on this matter.
2. Not only does the car park charge extortionate rates but the access to the building is really difficult. The entrance is at the back. For someone who has a disability or finds walking difficult, this is very unsatisfactory. This building has been adopted by Kingsbridge with little or no thought for people who need easy access to buildings. It was pointed out that there is a ‘shelter’ where one can call for a wheelchair. Who would ever think that this would be an option from a ‘shelter’ that looks very like a bus shelter.
Feel very much that Kingsbridge is putting profit before needs of the patient at a time when people are forced to use private healthcare and many forced to spend their hard earned savings as the NHS is under so much pressure.

As always it's difficult to review an insurance company unless you have had the experience of making a claim. I have been with Kingsbridge for over 10 years and in that time they have always price matched and made it easy to get insurance. However, I have been left feeling a little disappointed, I recently stopped being a contractor and since then Kingsbridge somehow think that they can keep taking monthly premiums for another 6 months. I have never known an insurance company do this, when it's not required it's normally just a case of cancelling it, but not with Kingsbridge, they think they are entitled to carry on taking premiums. So I would check your documentation when taking out this insurance.

In terms of Kingsbridge, I would definitely recommend them because they use of A-rated insurers, including Zurich & QBE, and because the do retroactive cover included as standard (Kingsbridge covers you for your previous work), and they offer zero excess included as standard on most packages.
