I had an extended for one year plus I months free insurance cover plus year two extended warranty cover for my mobile scooter. I had to make a claim for a new transaxle which was provided under warranty by the manufacturer and arranged for it to be fitted by a local firm, Lewis Mobility in Portsmouth, (excellent service). When my claim was submitted to Mark Bates they refused to pay Lewis Mobility labour charge stating that as the parts were provided by the manufacturer the labour for the fitting, £80.00, would not be covered.
Can someone please make sense of this, my opinion is a typical insurance fudge.

Tried the private GP service, initial call for an appointment was quick and efficient. Managed to get an appointment for the next day, was told to upload a picture of the symptom which I did. When speaking to the Dr the next day, after 10 mins of questions about my child’s illness, I was told he couldn’t make a clinical judgement to prescribe medicine and recommended I get my child checked by my GP or calling 111. Total waste of time, I requested a video call to help him make a judgement which he couldn’t do so spent 20+ hours waiting for the call to get some medicine; only to be told to get them checked physically. I had doubts when I saw the monthly price of £5 and thought this is too good to be true.
Avoid at all costs and go with TapGP, much more expensive but you get a prescription when you really need it!

I have been with this company for 3 years, I’ve never had such a bad experience with an insurance company. Instead of letting me get my scooter repaired by unable to help (where I bought the scooter and have loyalty with that company) they suggested other companies and issued me other numbers which ive never heard of. The first company that I phoned had never heard of marks and Bates and don’t repair disability scooters, the second company laughed at me and said they don’t understand why I’ve been given there number in the first place, the third company was going to charge me £175 and would’ve taken them 3 weeks to look at it.

I then phoned mark and Bates back and told them I wanted to deal with Unable To Help, would they honour the claim. They eventually said they would accept the invoice from Unable To Help Ltd. I was disgusted I couldn’t do this in the first place.

I rang Unable To Help and it was repaired the following morning by 11AM, I was overjoyed with there customer service and the price. I’d like to remind mark and Bates they are dealing with vulnerable people who use there scooters as a lifeline.

If it wasn’t for the company Unable To Help I would still be waiting for someone to repair it. I am shocked they didn’t recommend this company in the first place as they have great customer care unlike the other companies.

I got cover for my mobility scooter. And apparently I'm covered for courtesy scooter on my insurance. BUT because i've put in a claim on the warranty i can't get a courtesy scooter whilst mine is repaired. This is ridiculous!! So I'm homebound until its repaired as I cannot afford to pay out for a rental as even that isn't covered. So I'm literally stuck. If this was explained when purchasing I would've NEVER purchased in the 1st place. BAD BAD BAD!!!

Bought a brand new Freedom Chair A08L and had it for 2 years. Kept it like new, had it serviced annually. Had full insurance and breakdown cover from Mark Bates. On a cruise on Royal Caribbean in the USA. My front castor wheel snapped, my chair became unuseable. I contacted them this morning, I was told that your mechanical breakdown cover doesn't cover your because your wheel isn't mechanical. I was told there is nothing they can do. I am now left with the task of getting off the cruise ship and getting round the airport with no chair. I can't walk, My wife has bad Arthritis. I am going to have to abandon my chair. I can't believe they couldn't help me. All it would take is for them to source me a new castor and arrange to have it fitted by a mobile mobility company in NYC. I have no phone signal or I would of tried to do it myself. I am gutted beyond belief. I paid £4,000 for the chair and three batteries. Stay well clear of this company. Nothing worth the paper it was written on my two policies.?

I have recently had to amend a policy with them and I must say I have been pleasantly surprised by the courteous and efficient nature of everyone I have dealt with. It has seemed like a personal service that is so sadly lacking in today's age. I would highly recommend using this company for your insurance needs.
