We enjoyed our holiday with Alfa although the journey down took over 9 hours and the return journey only slightly less. The hotel was good although there were a few minor issues. We paid extra for a room with a view which we thought would be on the opposite side to the road. The room itself was great, with a lovely view of the Bay from the bay-window, but also overlooked the road so there was quite a bit of traffic noise, especially first thing in the morning.Luckily we got used to it. The food was mostly good, although there were a few dishes that didn't seem as described on the menu. Our lovely waitress, Shannon, was efficient and friendly, we certainly missed her on her day off. Entertainment was a bit hit-and-miss after a good start on Sunday night. This was followed by 2 consecutive nights of little or no entertainment and 3 nights with singers who couldn't match the first night singer. Lack of air-con made the entertainment room very hot. Fans only cooled those who were in front of them. The hotel was generally clean and reasonably well-furnished, although some chairs are starting to look a bit shabby. Staff were mostly friendly and helpful. What put a bit of a downer on our break was the fact that Alfa only delivered us to the resort, then we had no coach or driver for 2 days until a local coach and driver arrived to fulfil our excursions. We then had a different driver for the journey to the Interchange. He didn't speak until we arrived at our first stop, despite the fact that we were an hour late setting off.Not the same as our experience on our last Alfa Holiday.

Long journey but broken up with stops, Alfa driver Nigel was nice and knowledgeable on our days out.|Our bedroom was really nice, lots of noise early mornings from deliveries up and down road but didn't mind as I'm an early riser.Food was good and waiting staff worked very hard whilst remaining pleasant to all.|My only point would be to make sure door to downstairs outdoor area was kept closed as lots of us sat in the lounge and were really cold plus could smell cigarette smoke from folks stood at top of steps.|It would've been nice to sit on benches at the front but all the smokers sat.All in all a nice holiday but a bit far for me (walking stick)down into town, there's buses on roadside but a bit hit and miss.

We have just been to the hotel on a 5 day break,.
It is clean, the staff and manager are so helpful and polite.
There is a good choice of food for dinner and breakfast.
Good entertainment on an evening.
I would definitely go back to this hotel, it is nice to see all the staff were lovely and not just a few.

Just had a 2 night stay at the hotel . I had a Seaview room which was really nice there was a double bed laid out with towels, there were tea and coffee facilities in the room with which you could replenish at reception . Nice size wardrobe for clothes and there was a desk fan which was very welcome as it was really hot the days we were there. The bathroom was lovely it had a walk in shower which was great water press was excellent. We booked breakfast and there was plenty to choose from ie cereals and hot full English breakfast served on hot plates also vegetarian options available. There was tea and coffee brought to the table. There was entertainment both nights we were there which everybody seemed to enjoy. The staff were fantastic and couldn't do enough, plus there are lifts to every floor which was a bonus. The only negative i can give was the smell of drains in the corridor to my room. Its a 10min walk to the seafront and 20min stroll to the town but taxis are cheap enough to get there all in all we had a great time and would book again.

During our stay, my hysband became ill so we were going to get a train home. When we spoke to the duty manager she asked if we had taken there insurance, which we had, from that moment on it was out of our hands, she arranged for a taxi from hotel to Keighley, provided a packed lunch. This was our first coach trip so we were unsure what to expect. It was exceptional. Service, staff, cleanliness and food excellent. All being well we will be back. Thank you to all Metropole Staff.

Stayed here a few years ago when it was the Cavendish & has since supposedly had a major upgrade though I don't know where the money was spent. Still very tired looking & down in the mouth. Room was only just acceptable. There was an outside sitting area behind the bar but the steep flight of steps leading down to it were too perilous for most, they looked as if they should be condemned.|The food was atrocious, supposed to be home cooked, never in this wide world. One starter was supposed to be mushrooms in creamy sauce, it was just 3 mushrooms floating around in what looked like a tin of soup, the garlic bread was submerged & impossible to eat. The waiters/waitress staff were superb, always pleasant & eager to please. |Spent nearly ÂŖ600 each for the stay & I can honestly say it's highway robbery. Never again
