I recently ordered a book from NHBS.com. The estimated delivery on the book was 2-3 weeks. After 4 weeks with no delivery and no updates I contacted customers service. They said they would send an update shortly - they never did. 6 weeks after the order was placed I had still not received any update. I wanted to like this store and wanted to order from somewhere other than Amazon but unfortunately this experience is far below par. Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend.

Great experience with NHBS! The books I ordered arrived quickly to Iceland from the UK, very carefully packed and in perfect condition. I'm especially happy with the excellent selection of botanical identification guides and the Q2 Quadrat for Braun-Blanquet surveys. Communication with their team was smooth, friendly, and helpful. Chose 'express' delivery and paid extra to get order ASAP (1-2 days). Then received a delivery update from courier saying my 'Economy' delivery would be here in 5 days!?! Not the agreement of the order, and breach of sales contract!
Been trying to contact NHBS since to resolve or return, but they're not replying to email or phonecalls. Furious.

Amazed at how they treat their past and good customers. There was obviously a design fault in some of their equipment sent to me, and when it emerged later on, they just refused to discuss it, sending me a refusal for refund or exchange despite my having made a very good case for at least an exchange (though if they haven't sorted out the problem, that would have been futile anyhow). Such an arrogant and peremptory attitude to customers is presumably why their Trust Pilot rating is so deservedly low.

Very good service. I bought at least 9 books from them. The last one I bought was two weeks ago and it wasn't in stock it said normally delivered within 1-2 weeks. So I took a risk and ordered as a Christmas gift for my husband. So to make sure I get this book on time they upgraded my delivery to express. And now the book is all wrapped up under the Christmas tree. Very happy!

I bought a book from them and despite problems with standard shipping within the European Union the package arrived much earlier than expected at no additional cost. Excellent service. I hope that in the future I will be able to confirm this first excellent impression.
