Seeing high ratings need some balance, so some relevant facts from my experience with firm.
I was with Nugenis with my pension since 2017 up to Feb 2023, previously called Bartholomew Hawkins and Maven operating from same address, Tel no and a lot of same people involved.
Over that timescale despite stock markets being a lot higher. I lost money in an active portfolio. Yet I paid the firm over £55000 in fees over the period for my investments, that without individual fund charges charged by the funds or pension platform charges. Also not including the commission they received selling me other investments.
In that time four upheld complaints, one for pension miss selling, which had to be pursued via FSCS as Bartholomew Hawkins was put into administration. The other complaints mainly due to not carrying out the actions that were agreed in a timely manner.
I should really have left earlier, but wary of changing Financial advisor or doing it myself given it being my only pension. But a SIPP is a self invested pension plan, given there are a number of online platforms available to do it and like many have invested in shares on similar platforms for years, it is not that big a change.
I am pleased to have eventually left Nugenis to invest myself after latest issue with the firm and years of average or poor performance while paying significant fees for this performance.
