I chose Perfect Pet on line, I found them to offer a good price with good cover. Due to unforeseen circumstances I had to cancel my cover. I phoned and spoke to an advisor named Elliott who was extremely helpful ,friendly and polite. He promptly sorted out the issues I had and I was really impressed with their service.

Be warned, very little is covered for accidental injury with these guys. Because my cat was being chased by my dog when the dog injured his radial bone in his paw, we were not covered (all in the t&c’s so check what it is you’d be paying for before going ahead)

Please do not use these guys, our claim took 13 weeks to get to the stage of rejection. Nothing happened for about 8 weeks, chased then non relevant question about his inoculations, answered the same day by us but then another question a whole week later, this kept happening, asking one question instead of reviewing the case in it’s entirety. Wonder if this was a delaying tactic due to our renewal coming up shortly, but certainly felt like they were trying very hard to reject our claim.

All of the positive reviews are for customer service, yes they are friendly, helpful and informative but will push hard to tie you in!

There are so many reviews regarding rejections of claims due to policy not covering things that you’d expect, for example it’s quite likely a dog will chase a cat so surely you’d like that to be covered? Read those exclusions PLEASE do not end up with massive vet bills like ourselves. Better still go elsewhere and get covered for the things that are more likely to happen rather than pay for sub standard insurance.

In response to your response it took you 8 weeks to get the additional information, who exactly was this from? as the vet hospital had supplied you with the details relating to this claim. Regardless I was not kept informed of the request for more info, or I would have chased, something you should have done and not sat on it for 8 whole weeks. Strange how when I chased you you suddenly could proceed, however asking one question at a time from myself, then not respond for a week, funny how as soon as you found the reason you were looking for to not pay out, you responded straight away. Totally worthless insurance cover.

I'm a relatively new customer but the customer service I've experienced so far has been spot on! Hopefully I don't need to make a claim in the future but if I do I hope the process is as easy as amendments have been to make. Thank you to Ellie who has been really helpful.

Personally I would not use this company to insurance your pets. I would definitely shop around and go with a more reputable company.

Over the Christmas period I noticed my dog had bad breath and a couple of weeks later noticed he had a swelling on his face. I booked an appointment with my local vets who said to get a proper look he would need to be put under general anaesthetic. I genuinely thought it would be a bad tooth but once under they found a mass on his upper jaw. The vet did his best to remove and sent this away and unfortunately this came back as malignant melanoma with a prognosis of around 5 months.

The procedure cost £1200 pounds but around £400 of this was a scale and clean of his teeth which I already knew would not be covered but would have expected the removal of the tumour and the lab cost would but to my surprise my claim was declined saying oral/dental not covered.

Please be aware of this before you take insurance out with this company. As they seem to have everything covered other than your pet!!!

If I could award a zero I could
Avoid using at all cost
They will do anything to avoid paying out
Policy’s misleading
Never answer the phone
Small print beyond belief (and they don’t even share any of it with you)
Do not cover the majority of vets fees
Didn’t cover the death of our pet after he turned 8
Deduct left right and centre to avoid paying full costs
If you want any peace of mind DO NOT USE

I had a call from Elliot from perfect pets insurance, as I was having a problem with my renewal, he was very polite and helpful and quickly solved the problem I had. So good to actually speak to a person instead of a machine. Will definitely recommend.

I chose perfect pet as they offered a very reasonable multi pet policy which was perfect for me. I had to make a claim for my puppy and this was dealt with promptly and my money was refunded right back to my account once the claim was assessed and accepted. Brilliant insurance company for pets!
