If you have photography insurance with Ripe, Davies is the partner of Ripe Photography Insurance (which we are now cancelling).

This company is a scam, worst customer service and nearly impossible to get a hold of them or get a response. I had 2 cameras that were broken and they told me that there is no 3rd party servicer they partner with that we could send it to for an estimate/repairs and would need to find our own servicer in London. After not being able to find anyone to service our cameras, I managed to get a hold of Davies and the rep told me they actually did have a 3rd party servicer. By this point, I was in a rush to get these fixed and ended up finding an external 3rd party to try and sort it faster. After giving them the information for the estimate, it took them 11 days to get back to me (when they claim they aim to reply within 3 days). It's taken over a month to get this sorted, with many back and forths as they are super difficult to get ahold of (20 min waiting times on the phone). On top of this, because we didn't have our receipts we were not fully covered and only got 67% of the payment needed for the repairs.

We also needed to pay for the entire year of your policy coverage upfront to get the payout. On top of this, they are very unorganised as I had to ask them 5 times to update our address (as each time they asked me for security verification it was wrong).

sold vehicle 6months in to a policy no refund, and no way of forwarding me my proof of no claims.
I'm purchasing another motorhome very soon ,will I be using Ripe?

This insurance company provided me with a very cheap quote. Sounded too good to be true. When I decided to proceed it asked me to call their customer services team to finalise. Customer services didn't seem bothered so just referred me back to the online system, even though I couldn't proceed online. They don't seem to have a clue or they just don't give a damn. Reading other reviews now, I'm glad I didn't get to proceed with this company.

No customer choice, you are automatically placed on auto renew which I didn't realise until today. I think the emails they send get hidden in spam etc also you don't see them and they only give 2 weeks cooling off period so I've got an £80 loss of money because I paid on credit card and only noticed when I got my credit card bill. Obvs they won't be good about it, quoting me T&C and keeping my money. It just feels a very rip off, dodgy company. Don't use them.

I used Craftinsure for years—then Ripe took over and the ship hit the rocks.
🔐 Logins? Broken.
🛥️ My boat? Suddenly “too risky” to insure—despite being moored for years at a premium marina in Teddington, just because it’s technically tidal. Seriously?

Then they spam me with “Why did you leave?” emails.
Answer: Because your onboarding sank, your systems are clunky, and your logic makes waves where there aren’t any.

Crafted? Not anymore. Ripe? More like Rotten.

I put in an online claim a month ago followed by chasing them up and I have had no response, although online I was told 5 working days .will never use them for golf insurance again!

Overall only had the insurance for low chance that something should happen. Since shooting has all bit ended in my county for various reasons felt it was no longer needed. It was then that I got bombarded with sales calls trying to get me to renew, despite telling them that I wanted to be removed from the sales list. This is still ongoing 2-3 calls a day. Now even if I wanted to renew I'd avoid like plague because of this.....it's now borderline harassment.

I dont normally leave reviews but i felt so strongly about the conduct of this company i felt obliged to. This is an awful company, with shocking customer service. We took out a policy for some valuable items and dispite nothing being contested am still struggling to get the insurance co.pany to pay out nearly 6 months later. They employ delaying tactics, relay between several different companies none of which seem to be in relation to Ripe whom i took my insurance out with all 3rd party prividers whom i have not heard of but slopey shouldered blame onto each party for why there have been no responses.
The unbased allegations and accusations upon a time when we were grieving is nothing short of disgusting, and every email received from this company seems to relay a threat of scaring tactics and prosecution right from the offset.
You take out insurance so that god forbid should you ever need it you have piece of mind. This company has caused more stress, upset and aggrevation than the initial incident. Avoid at all costs if you can as nothing is worth the stress this company has caused me and my family.
If i could leave 0 stars i would.
Despite bo longer even having the product i have been told i cannot cancel my insurance or it will invalidate my claim, so this company have also been taking my monies from my bank for 6 months as it has taken this long and still not resolved for service no longer required under the threat of not paying out.
