My elderly parents have paid for this policy for years, recently they had cause to make a claim. The original contact told them all their lost credit cards would be cancelled and new ones issued within 11 days. This did not happen, one of the cards was not even cancelled but my parents were not informed Also none of the cards were replaced and it was left to us to order replacements, during this time there was no contact from Sentinel to let us know any of the above. The girl we eventually spoke to on the phone line was very badly informed on what was happening . Avoid!

Sent a letter about a year ago to cancel my late mother’s account about a year ago. No answer.

Received a final reminder letter today for payment. Called them to advise of my mother’s death as per my letter. They didn’t even look the account up, just told me to send a death certificate even though the account had lapsed and refused to just mark the account as deceased, as previously notified.
The person I spoke to was extremely unhelpful!

When my dad died my poor mum had to send a copy of his death certificate to cancel the account. This wasn't enough for them. To get the refund of £40 they wanted a copy of my Dad's will. Seriously?!

I have had an account with Sentinel Gold for several years. I unfortunately lost my wallet in Mumbai on February 19th with 5 credit cards in it. I rang Sentinel Gold to cancel these the same day. They explained they were unable to cancel my Santander Card and I therefore spoke to Santander directly to cancel the card. I also had a foreign currency FX Mastercard, which I was able to cancel on my App. The remaining 3 cards Sentinel Gold told me they would cancel
On my return to the UK on the 20th Feb I rang Sentinel Gold and was reassured all three cards had been successfully stopped.
They had stopped my BA Amex card. Having had no communication from John Lewis regarding my mastercard, I rang them and found that the card had not been stopped. John Lewis did tell me they had had a fax about my card, but had taken no action, as they thought they had insufficient information to cancel. Concerned about this I rang Metro Bank about my debit card, who told me it was still active and they had received no information about its loss.
The reason I joined upto Sentinel Gold was to help in such a scenario. There system clearly does not work, out of the 5 cards I had in my wallet Sentinel Gold only cancelled one successfully.
I complained to Sentinel Gold about this and they blamed John Lewis for not getting back to them. You cannot assume no news is good news, they should have a system where they receive a feedback from all card providers confirming cancellation. I am not happy.

They robbed my Barclaycard account of £89.95. And when questioned about it. Denied it and can't find ANY record of doing this. They won't repay it. And now don't reply to any of my emails.
