Last year SJL sorted out insurance for me because my needs had become more complex. This year they reminded me early to renew, but I was busy and wanted to consider other options. I was not pleased nine days before renewal to be told, by a second, different member of the team that the date for renewal was a day earlier than was the case, then three days earlier. I went to another insurance broker altogether, who sorted things out for me and fixed a new policy on the proper renewal date (according to my previous policy documents). I have since spoken to them, and they have said that staff have as a result been told to be careful not to misspeak, and to be clear that the final date of a policy and the renewal date are not the same thing. Confusing for me, but if the internal memo works you shouldn't be put off by this story.
