My wife and I contacted Sound Financial to discuss our retirement plans. Andrew and his team were refreshingly open and honest about whether we would significantly benefit from entering into a formal plan with his company. Even so, the time they set aside (1) to gather information, and (2) to meet with us and signpost a number of "quick wins" that we could manage ourselves was time very well spent from our point of view, if not theirs! We were recommended to Sound as I started to plan for my retirement. I had a few different pensions and then a small inheritance, and had very little financial expertise of my own in this highly complex area. After a very thorough review of our short and long term objectives, our annual budget and our regular expenses, Sound recommended a profile to suit our appetite for risk and set up the pension platform accordingly. We conduct an annual meeting to discuss performance and to review our objectives but we are also able to ask questions if anything material changes. We now have complete confidence that our financial affairs are in safe hands.

I first approached Sound Financial following a recommendation from my solicitor. They helped me initially to help resolve finances related to a divorce, and now support me with my private pension ensuring I get the best out of it in the most tax efficient way.
I find all the team friendly and supportive and feel that they are genuinely looking after me as best they can. The atmosphere is informal but also very professional. A great combination in my mind!

We bit the bullet and took professional financial advice about 25 years ago from Sound Financial Planning, and this was one of the best Life decisions my Wife Paula and I, ever made. The cost of this advice over the years has been paid back in spades over and over. We have also been secure even in the tough cash flow times in the knowledge that we were insured for almost any disaster that might strike us and our family.
As it worked out fortunately we have yet to need these insurances, but now will reap the benefits of excellent pension guidance and investment support that has for us shown better returns than most of our friends who managed their own affairs over the years without advice.
If I was advising my old self of 25years ago should I seek this sort of advice and financial partnership? I would say can you afford not to? I went to sound with two different company pensions and no idea what to do with them
I like the idea that a pension pays you an amount of money each month guaranteed for you life, But! I didn't like the fact that when you die your spouse only receives half of the figure and if you both die the pension fund keeps the lot
I met Andrew Hall, he outlined what was the best route to take for me and my wife, there is an initial cost and a retainer , however this is far outweighed by peace of mind at how my pension is now being managed and my wife will still get a full pension should I pass
My investments through Sound, have easily covered any costs involved

I first approached Sound Financial Planning in 2009 when I started a family and needed to invest for the future. Since then Paul and his team have always been there to support us, and that help has always been consistent. Financial matters can be confusing but SFP make it so much easier by explaining things in simple terms without trying to bombard you with jargon and then over complicating things. I have never been afraid to ask a question and if it hasn't made sense then they explain it with understanding and patience. Investing can be up and down but one thing that SFP have taught me is not to panic. That has been a big piece of advice and they are very good at it. I would not hesitate in recommending them to anyone, so if you are looking for someone to trust with your future, you should contact Paul and team before doing anything.
